The situation with Early gives Marshall a lot of credibility with JuCo PF's. Going from a D3 JuCo to one of 5 finalists for a national PoY award and being a borderline lottery pick shows what a JuCo big man can achieve under Marshall.

Marshall is approaching the ability to name who he wants and get that player. The situation with Green indicates that there's a player the coaching staff expects to sign. I got the feeling that Atwood wasn't a good fit.

That leaves ******* and some others that have kind of dropped off the radar. That doesn't mean they're off the staff's list. Just means there hasn't been much public info about them and the Shox.

I think the Shox could be a S16 team with *******. Putting a dominating post player in the same class with FVV, Baker, and Wessel has GOT to be attractive to a dominating post player.

Eat your hear out, Stephen Hurt, you had your chance. I think I'm glad we missed on him.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I got the feeling that Stephan Hurt wasn't a good fit either. That's obvious but right. :)

He was a good fit for us. Otherwise, why would we have recruited him in the first place. Obviously, he didn't think we were a good fit for him.

If one of the two parties doesn't like the fit, it is not a good fit

Meh, I wouldn't say being second or third choice makes a program not a good fit. He just liked K-State better.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't I read somewhere that Hurt didn't care for a running team? To me that spells out "I don't want to have to work too hard" Not a good fit on our team. Also didn't I read somewhere that since he has signed with K-State that his numbers have actually went down. (giving the impression of fat and happy now)

Hopefully for KState, he re-blossoms. He was good at Lipscomb if my facts are straight.

Marshall is going to bring in an angry bull who wants to win a title right now. We have an excellent recruiting premise this year and next year. Somebody good is going to take his opportunity. I can't wait to find out who

He is not fast up and down the court. Whether that is due to lack of effort or lack of speed is not clear.

it's the FIRST DAY of the signing period. Could be a month before we know anything.

                          Yes

                          ...and...

                          Yes

I believe in the statement where he said he didn't like a running game, he mentioned that guys his size don't run real well. About that time I was thinking, "this is never going to work". Stutz didn't exactly resemble a gazelle, but he never made excuses and always did the best he could.

Shaq Morris is another "big guy". I bet he will be faster down the court next year than he ever imagined he could be. A player has to want that before they can get that.

Hurt's numbers this year were not impressive last I saw them.

It was after a visit to Indiana that Hurt said they had a style that was too up-tempo for his liking. If I read a little further into that, what he could be saying is that up-tempo teams tend to get more of their scoring scoring from guards and athletic forwards, not their skilled post players. The more half-court possessions, the more touches Mr. Hurt gets. Maybe he's not really that selfish, but it makes me wonder.

Either the Aargh interpretation or Royal's suggest that Hurt might not have been a good fit. Yes, the coaches started out going hard after him, but for all we know they may have backed off before he committed to KSU, and for some of the same reasons.

Bottom line is that at this point it doesn't matter, because he isn't going to be at WSU next season.
