I think it's interesting that trop's original post in this thread showed that VCU also had interest. They seem to have dropped off Hamilton's list, for what that's worth, but anyone VCU is interested in is probably worth a look. The tough, active, athletic, defense-oriented players that thrive in Shaka's Havoc program have a lot in common with guys who make good Shockers (Carl Hall, anyone?), so I'm with Rocky -- this kid is a Shocker who just hasn't signed up yet. Hope the visit is a big success.

I'm sure a lot of people do it. If you believe that high-level recruits have never received tweets from overzealous fans, then I have some oceanside property right near Koch Arena to sell you. You'd think the NCAA would have better things to do than monitor those type of things...although nothing the NCAA does would amaze me.

That said, if you have to ask the question, it is probably best to not do it.

VCU has been doing well on the recruiting trail, it seems. They signed two top-159 PFs in this class, which probably explains why Hamilton dropped off their radar.
