    Openings

Well, shizzle, it's different in two ways:

    1. WSU's 13 scholarships for last year included one for Orukpe, who never arrived. Similarly, the potential roster for next year is only full assuming he does, which may not happen -- he isn't here yet.

    2. WSU's coach apparently knows that at least some spots will open up, because he keeps saying he's recruiting with the expectation of signing 1-2 more players. So with WSU, it doesn't appear to be a question of if a scholarship will open up -- it's a question of when, and whose.

A very good Hutch fan who seems to know what is going on said that Bowman and Maze may not qualify to go on to D-1 play.

If that's the case, they will have to enroll and sit out a year to get their academics in order.

There is a Hutch player from last year who had to do that this year at his new school.

Looks like Maryland is out of Bowman's future as, "a recruiting source said Bowman would not have qualified academically at College Park."

Message board chat: Bowman may still get his AA degree and if so will be a Sooner. His coach said he's been concentrating on the books so for his sake, I hope he makes it.

The word on Bowman from JucoJunction is according to coach Swanson, he will not graduate and is looking to play overseas or some other pro ball.
