So the players we can expect to be able to pick from should all be known within the week. Anyone else will need a waiver (which is unlikely). So we are either landing Freshman (isn't a bad thing but don't expect immediate impact from freshman) or lower end transfer.

You mean since then we've only signed a 3ppg kid from OU, an unknown PG from Africa who had no known other offers and a kid from Mizzou who saw his minutes plummet as a Junior (before getting injured) while averaging 2 ppg and will need a waiver that is unlikely to come to play at all next year.

Certainly not jumping for joy at the class so far. But certainly eons away from where you are.
But you’re delusional.

Please explain how every transfer outside of the top 100 players in the country is “lower end”.
That’s what I disagreed with in the beginning.
That is a poor take.

I’ll also repeat: Had not signed Walton or Pierre at this time last year.
But we scraped them off the bottom of the barrel in mid May.

Walton committed on May 12th. So basically this week. He was the 2nd to last player. The last was Shammah Scott signed in late July ...
2. You bought into the "pts" ranking. Gotcha .. that makes sense why you are disconnected from reality. You get extra points for sheer volume of bodies which is why we have so many points .. yet our "average ranking" is way lower than other teams in the 60s range. and last year they only included 3 of our players since they don't always update their rankings. Pierre never got updated off a 0 so he didn't count in the average. Okafor wasn't listed anywhere. Walton didn't count because he was JUCO, even though he was listed as the No 1 JUCO player at one point. Colby Rogers also wasn't included in the 2022 rankings for some reason. It only counted Ballard, Rojas and Bell. For this year, it's still giving points based on Beverlys 2019 HS ranking (.97) .. which is completely irrelevant after 4 years of college.
Another key comparison is looking at who we beat out for these recruits
Last Year:
Walton: LSU, K-State
Pierre: Miss State, Tulane, Murray State
Ballard: Syracuse
Rogers: Cal, Temple
Okafor: Miss State, Georgetown
Rojas: None listed
Bell: Never listed offers, but known listed contacts of Miss State, Tulsa, GCU, Clemson, Tulane
Scott: Cleveland St, Weber State, North Texas, Akron
So the vast majority of those we beat out were AAC or higher teams (outside of Scott who was the last really late add).
This year:
Germany: Vanderbilt
Joy: No other known offers
Beverly: No other known offers (but was likely poached before offers could come in)
Cortes: No other known offers
So either we landed the quietest, most secretive team in the world, or we are only landing players with no other good options (gonna throw the caveat that Beverly would have had more offers if he was in the portal more than 3 minutes)
You have to make a SUPER stretch to say the recruits we have landed this year look better than the recruits we landed last year. and all of them were landed this week or earlier last year.

Southern Miss transfer Jaron Pierre, Jr. announced his intentions to become a Shocker on Saturday, committing to Wichita State on social media. Also our average rating from 247… higher this year than last, too. So not really sure what your point is there?
You don’t know who else offered who we signed because clearly information is being shared differently with this regime than the last, but I too would be interested in that.
Fair enough about Pierre. Thought he was about this time.
