That sucks. Sounded like he would've been a solid pick-up for us at a much needed position. Stating the obvious here that this nil thing just flat out sucks. It just shows how players don't even wanna be here (or really any school outside the major conferences for that matter)...they just want the cash. It used to make me feel good when a player selected Wichita St. Not so much anymore.

I believe they were talking about the previous center we felt we were close to signing, not Meeks.

Yeah, I was referring to Aargh 's question about Meeks "extorting" WSU for NIL money. Almost definitely the case with who his dad is, and with the way the market is and how we got outbid last second for the other center.

It sucks that it all comes down to money, but I cannot stress enough that this team needs a player of Meeks' caliber to achieve it's full potential in my opinion.

Not even "full potential" but having another good center (or person over 6'6 at least) is required to be better than last year IMO. We got better at other positions for sure .. but only having 1 player over 6'6 will be a problem.

So yea .. we need to fill this one.

According to his twitter, this is his 2nd time in the portal as a grad transfer. I don’t know what rules may apply to that. He also needs the NCAA to approve his injury redshirt for last year which shouldn’t be an issue. We know the NCAA doesn’t work real fast. The NCAA has lost a lot of power, but it still has some say on eligibility issues.
