"They envision me as a point guard, but I can also play the three spot," Burton said. "But basketball is becoming positionless, so they're excited about my versatility and ability to play different positions. Honestly, I just want to do whatever is in the best interest to help my team win."
Not only does it show they have plans at the PG position, but that the program also is seeing the direction the game of basketball is going and adjusting accordingly.
Thats why I started the hard reset thread. This is going to end up being good for WSU; probably sooner rather than later.Last edited by Shock Top; April 20, 2018, 04:34 PM.The Assman

Basketball has always been about matchups. Last season we didn’t have the physicality to hold a significant advantage against some of the teams we played. Make no mistake — we’ve upgraded. Players who would’ve excelled against The Valley have been replaced with players who will excel against The Anerican. We’re going to win, damnit. And win now.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

Taylor confirmed on twitter that Burton was the one who reached out to Ron and other former players, which is perfectly acceptable.

I think what happened here was a miscue by Eldridge in his comment, "a phone call from Ron Baker..."
It was actually a call TO Baker by Burton that helped provide the clincher, but it wouldn't have been necessary to clarify if it had just been written accurately the first time around. Which just goes to show that Eldridge does a hell of a job, but he isn't perfect. Oh, well.
