We'll see. I know we got some positive reports about Hawkins, but until it's official, I'm not holding my breath. Same with Uwadiae. Would love to have both of them here this coming season. And if they are, I understand your confusion.

I still hope he gets to stay on campus when school starts. Maybe I'm too paranoid about it, but considering what KU had to go through with a kid who hopped schools, I'm going to wait and see.

Staying isn't the problem, Sub -- it's what he DOES once he's stayed on campus that matters. Like being able to practice and play, for instance.

If he doesn't get cleared he could very easily end up at a JUCO for two years. I believe the plan is the RS him if he's clears. I do also believe that one of the KU guys got some sort of mandatory RS from the NCAA for academic reasons. Perhaps that's what happens with Uwadiae. I don't recall if there were any other stipulations on that one either. May be it's time I hit up my brother.

McLemore and another guy were declared partial qualifiers. I don't really know what that means but they couldn't play or practice with the team. They were KU students so I guess it was a redshirt year.

Just heard from my brother. McLemore could begin practicing with the team after the first semester. So for a few months, if Uwadiae goes through this, he'd be on his own but once finals are over he could begin practicing with the team. So at least he'd have that and the whole year wouldn't be lost.

I talked to HU on Saturday and he said for sure he would be here next year. He is legit 7 foot, looks eye to eye with EO, but he is rail thin. Nice kid though.

Not to try and rain on the parade or anything, but I think McLemore and the other kid thought the same thing. Until I hear he's cleared the NCAA Clearinghouse, I won't be at ease about his status.

He is thin, but heck of an athlete with a pretty decent understanding of the game. Definitely raw, but you never know with a guy like this. He could end up being special. He could end up being solid. He could end up being a bust.

That's pretty close.... When it comes to the NCAA, I take nothing for granted. And there are some red flags on both Hawkins and Uwadiae.
