      WuDrWu thanks for the updates!

The Shocker men had one of those magical and incredible meets. It seemed like everything went their way and SIU, UNI, and IndSt had no response. Its hard to hit all the highlights but needless to say there were some HUGE efforts all around the track and field and this first ever men's indoor title was a total team effort!

      Some obvious highlights ...
--Heptathlon goes 1-2-4-5-8. Not only that but the 2 and 5 were by 5 points or less, REALLY close in a multi-event competition! BTW, Devin Dick got that 8th place finish, an incredible comeback from what he faced earlier in the school year!
--60 hurdles goes 1-2-4-7-8. Todd McKown had his coming out party with a win in the hurdles and 2nd in the 200m. Always reliable Chris Allen just got edged out for the win and FROSH Cory Beenken gets up for 4th!
--400m - probably the event that clinched the meet. Coming into the meet SIU and UNI had the top two guys. Even though they made the finals they weren't 100% and faded to 7th and 8th while the Shockers went 1-2-4-6. Nate Thiesfeld (another incredible comeback story) edged teammates Justin Smith for the win. Along with Justin Cole and Dylan Hartnett this group then came back and won a thrilling 4x400 relay in come from behind fashion. WuDrWu was right, that race was UNREAL!
--The long jump and triple jumpers dominated with Tyler Simmons (LJ) and Josh Crawford (TJ) taking the titles and loads of Shockers getting up in the scoring.
--Chris Dickman (former walk-on from tiny Grinnell, Kansas) and Todd McKown (Valley Center, KS) got MVP honors. I think that is great that those two along with women's sprinter Audacia Moore took home MVP honors and they're all Kansans. Shows there is some great talent in this area!

Once again this is a FIRST ever indoor team title for the Shockers, I gotta imagine having the new indoor track installed 3 years ago was the foundation for this championship.

I also gotta believe the all-sports trophy is all but locked up after the weekend.

      Way to go Shockers!!!

Josh Crawford's winning triple jump (50-6), he got off balance at the end or it would've been a HUGE jump ...

Not sure there is a better comeback story at WSU this year. This decade.....
