Shows what I know. Gilliespie is about to close out Herzan in the 3rd set while Sergio has tied it at 4, on serve in the 3rd at the #6.

This could easily go down to a final set, 3rd set tiebreaker.

Perhaps but Sergio breaks AGAIN and will serve for the championship at 6-5.

Drake in fact has evened the match at 3.

          Gillespie over Herzan 6-7, 7-5, 6-3.

Hell of a comeback that the Shocks HAD to have from Sergio de Vilchez. Trailing 4-1 in the third, he ran off the last 5 games to take the match and the Valley title 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Way to go Shocks and I'm ecstatic for our coach and my friend Brad Louderback. Way to go Brad!!!!

Thanks to everybody for the updates. Great win for the Shockers.

Agreed on all counts. What a gritty effort by Sergio at #6 singles. Just very happy for Coach Louderback and his guys. I think this match encapsulated the Shocks season very well. Great to see the guys able to walk of the court smiling and happy.

                    goshockers.com report

It marks the third tournament title under head coach Brad Louderback, while the 25 MVC men's tennis titles are the most all-time in Valley history.

Apparently, the Shocks and the Geese aren't the best of buds on the tennis court:

Quite an interesting finish to end the title clinching #6 singles match.

The Shockers (17-10) and winners of the Missouri Valley Conference will meet Arkansas (19-8) in the Round of 64 in Stillwater, OK. WSU's four-team region, hosted by No. 16 overall seed Oklahoma State (18-7), also features Bryant (12-11).

A pretty decent regional for the Shocks, especially considering the #28 ranked Lady Shocks have been sent all the way to Coral Gables, FL for the regional. Of course, if you had to choose maybe Coral Gables sounds pretty good despite the long distance.

Shocker Sr. Tin Ostojic receives a bid to participate in the NCAA singles championship. Hopefully, his ankle and his stamina will be much improved by then.

Wichita State's tennis teams will need to win two dual matches next weekend to reach to the NCAA Championship site in Tulsa, Okla., but their top players are already guaranteed a trip.

Tin Ostojic and women's sophomore Gabriela Porubin were selected Wednesday evening to compete for national singles titles at the 2016 NCAA Individual Championships, May 25-30 at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

                          Congrats Tin and Good Luck.

Ok, I don't usually follow tennis, but I'm from AC and went to school with the Louderback's. Their father was also a teacher and I took pre-calc/trig from him. What happened to Brad?

Not sure. Just that he is suspended. Here is the Eagle report on that: http://www.kansas.com/sports/college...e77435992.html
