Even if VCU had lost, though, I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt their reputation much. After all, James Madison is a pretty darn good team. We know this because they lost to KSU by only 14 earlier this year. ;-)

I disagree. Butler had just lost to bottom-feeder Youngstown St, now they redeem themselves with a high RPI win on the road and a game closer to 1st in the Horizon. A Butler loss, short of them winning the Horizon tourney, would have put the dirt over them. The NCAA will undoubtably try to find a way to get them a dance card and eliminate someone else's at-large opportunity.

If you look at the remaining schedules for Cleveland State, Valpo, Wright State, and Butler- it will be almost impossible for Butler to climb to better than 4th in the regular season Horizon standings. There is no way they will get an at-large bid if that plays out.

CSU had an RPI of 29 heading into today's game and is easily the league's strongest at-large candidate.

An Iowa State win over the Kitties would be nice too :clap:

Seriously though, I'm not looking forward to seeing the UNI game with Dukey Vitale. I mean sure, I guess it's pretty big to get that kind of a "name" in your arena. But don't think for a second he won't spend 98% of the broadcast somehow bringing up Duke, other ACC teams or even KU (especially given the game against UNI in the tourney last year). I'm honestly glad he won't be in Wichita.

Seriously though, I'm not looking forward to seeing the UNI game with Dukey Vitale. I mean sure, I guess it's pretty big to get that kind of a "name" in your arena. But don't think for a second he won't spend 98% of the broadcast somehow bringing up Duke, other ACC teams or even KU (especially given the game against UNI in the tourney last year). I'm honestly glad he won't be in Wichita.

Are you serious? Love him or hate him, he would be worth the price of admission. The students and even the gray hairs would be rockin' with DV in the house. IIRC, he called a game at Levitt many moons ago. We want him in the house. He would go on and on about our depth, talent and Koch Arena. We couldn't buy that much marketing (and our marketing department sucks).

Actually, I read somewhere it was subject to change about him being at UNI... hopefully ESPN will pull their heads out and send DV to one of the best atmosphere's in the country.

No he would touch on our depth and athleticism and then tangent off to a 20 minute rant about the ACC, KU or Kentucky. Sorry, just don't like the guy. There are plenty other famous comentators that I would rather have in the house. Heck I would even take Bilas or the General over freakin Vitale. Just my opinion though. Obviously you either love him or hate him.

I wouldn't worry about getting Vitale. Remember, we got the Friday night game. They'll save Vitale for a Saturday affair. It will likely be second tier guy.
