I think he's talking about the way the WSU broadcast, at some point, goes off the air EVERY single game. Its ridiculous and totally unprofessional. I don't know if the broadcasters don't know how to use the equipment, the engineer in the studio doesn't know what he's doing, or the equipment is terrible. All I know is we had better radio quality broadcasts in the 1960's than we do now. It can't be that difficult. Everyone else does it without dropping the broadcast during the game (or postgame).

Guess I have never really noticed too many problems with it.
I prefer to listen to the radio more than watch it sometimes.

You should be able to watch digital Cable on a 55 inch LCD tv."Coach Marshall,We will be at Creighton at least 15 hours in advance!"

I think the chopped off sides of the feed and the poor resolution could be connected.
It looks to me like the image is being digitally zoomed in, so instead of seeing the full image in it's native resolution, it's like watching TV zoomed in or using digital zoom on your camera after you take the shot.
Here's a visual:
Original Shot
10x Optical Zoom
10x Digital Zoom
Just a hunch, somebody on the production team needs to turn off the digital zoom. Of course the level of detail the newer and larger TV's provide will only exaggerate the problem."Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."

The standard def TV is fine - with the exception of some of the picture being cut off. They most likely sent the signal out 16:9 standard def and the 4:3 TV's will have some cut-off."If you're going to do it, you're going to do it right," athletic director Jim Schaus said. "If we're going to put 'Wichita State' across our chest, then every team is going to matter."

There are plenty of SD-only basketball games out there that are completely fine on my flat panel. The same Metro Sports produced FSN games are good examples of this. They are SD-produced and I have no problems with them.
Cox is simply fudging it up somewhere along the line.Deuces Valley.
