We learned that you can't have a 14 - 0 run against you without your coach calling a time out in there somewhere to settle things down. What a blunder!

There is little timing on this team. Timing was damn near perfect last year, and to be honest offense is about 3 things: spacing; reading and reacting to the defense; and timing cuts, drives, and picks in the way that is most effective to the offense.

1-7 showing for the Valley in this Conference challenge. Blah Blah Blah. The Shocks need to get back to the drawing board. Our inside game tonight was outplayed easily and often. We are still allowing too much dribble penetration, and we are fouling way to much. It is still early with time to shore up these correctable but glaring weaknesses. Our quality depth was not as evident in this game as so in others this Season. Even so, by the Season's final stretch, I look for it to be very solid. San Diego may be the best team we play all Season long and a game with them at our House would be fun.

My concern is that the team knowing they have to win in the Lou will choke under pressure. They could go 18-0 in the regular season and it still comes down to the Lou.

Frustrating. This program can never seem to quite get over the hump. Welcome to another season on the NCAA bubble, hope we can get hot at the right time, get in and win a couple games.

What is up with Stutz. We'd be better off giving his minutes to Orupke, at least he'd push someone around inside.

You guys might be over exaggerating just a tad.

23-5 would give us an RPI around 26. Throw in a marquee Bracket Buster victory and I think we're in. 22-6 would give us an RPI of 34, and that SHOULD be worst case scenario.

FWIW, running the table gives us an RPI of 13. All of these RPIs are of course approximations, but they shouldn't be too far off.

I learned with the Valley going 1-7 in this challenge that I'm flat out embarrassed by this conference. I learned that the Shox, or any other Valley team for that matter, will now be relegated to the back-burner of college basketball media attention. We could run the table in the regular season and still barely get a whiff of attention due to this piss poor conference. I learned that this is a one-bid league again and telling myself baseball season can't get here fast enough.

Stutz still needs to add weight/muscle to his upper, upper-body: neck, traps and shoulders. His posture is not good around that area.

Does anyone remember last year? Does anyone remember how many times we all said, "That's it, this loss is the one that does us in for an at-large hope" And then week after week, loss after loss, we kept being right on the edge of being in or out in bracketology until eventually we did ourselves in with too many losses down the stretch. It is not St. Louis or bust now, absolutely not. Does the fact that we lost our two games against ranked teams? Yes. Does it hurt that we do not play another tournament quality team until possibly bracket busters? Yes.

Our path is significantly harder than it would be if we could have won one of those games. But to say on December 4th that is it St. Louis or bust is naive as a college basketball fan. The MVC stinks this year, but it isn't the SWAC or the Big South.
