Oh well, since I can't have a Dog n Shake Chili Cheese Dog tonight we are having pigs in a blanket. It isn't close to the real thing, but it will have to do.

I haven't had a Dog and Shake for a couple years, last one I had just didn't taste right, I think they've switch dog suppliers. And now Wichita's overrun with gourmet hot dog places that pile all sorts of crap on a high-end dog (sunflower seeds, alfalfa sprouts, barbecued beef, etc.).

Guess I'll have to go to El Guero Canelo, a local Taqueria for a couple of Sonoran Hotdogs tomorrow.

During my Thanksgiving visit home, I dined at the West Maple location introducing my sons to the wonder of Dog N Shake. (It was their suggestion since I talk about it all the time)

I had a chili dog and a cheeseburger, others had a Philly steak and a double cheese.

                  We'll be heading back.

Years and years ago there was a hamburger shack on Maple near the ballpark. I'm thinking it was still open about 15 years ago, but maybe not. Anybody remember the name of the guy who had it?

Last time I went by the one on West Street was closed too. I was heartbroken. Also, I think I saw the son who had taken over the business in the obits recently.

HCGM reads shockernet. I watched him scanning it before a Valley Tournament game. I am sure he finds us all to be amusing in an unintentional way.
