First half we were playing our game. Run the ball and keep the defense on their toes.
Second half the full court press killed us. It sucks for us because we faced the same situation on Monday versus Davidson and showed no signs of improvement in that area.
Mistakes at crucial moments (turnovers, bad shots and lack of defensive rebounding) also hurt us.
We're a young team. We graduated the starting five from last year and are trying to make due with freshmen and sophomores. We need a lot of work if we want to reach the levels we did last year but at least we got a solid core.
We should finish second in the SoCon to Davidson (Davidson is unreal this year) as some players will grow in their rolls over time but we're still behind Davidson in many ways.
Your point guard was very good. He did things that Stephen Curry did to us (get open threes, lead his team) and did them well at the crucial times. Best of luck Shockers.
P.S. God Gregg Marshall yells alot. He needs to watch himself being on the court so much as well as his assistants. They got warned a couple times about that.
The missing links from the first half was ironed out with the road win. 4-2----I'll take it. That 2-3 zoned rocked their world and made us very lucritive with extra possessions. No wonder we were begging for just that last year. Only 11 (we like that #) turnovers offset us getting beat or the 1st time on the Boards. 10---3 pointers was huge!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
