  • Altman's New Court

Kind of surprised at the "positive reaction." I think It's gross...

No way would I ever play on a court like that.

It's nauseating to say the least.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

What if you played for Stanford? I think your coach would be disappointed if you refused once every year.

Sorry, just really need to see some basketball!!!

It's the liberal northeast.....they're all smoking dope. It's the only way you could possibly like that.

That's not sports. That's someone on drugs thinking they are better than everyone else and trying to bring attention to themselves.

I hope the real thing doesn't look that awful. I would refuse to play on the grounds that it was unsafe and circus-like.

Oregon just has to be different in everything they do. I think if they put half the passion they put in their aesthetics department into their athletic department, they'd have a better all-around athletic program.

No, Nike just owns them. They're Nike's proving ground for ideas too stupid to even be considered somewhere else. Consider if Nike approached ADES with the offer...

Nike: Hey, ADES, we've got an idea for you. We want to try out something new in the on-court graphics arena, and considering we already supply your uniforms, why don't you let us make your court look like a wheat field?

ADES: Y'know? Suddenly I've always liked that Adidas or Under Armor Look. Good day, friends.

Oregon is Nike's little plaything. Until they get out of Nike's bed, they'll always look like crap.

I saw this on a few other forums. To me it just looks ugly - a rather dull looking brown and a collection of trees.

Now if this team was the sharks or something then the idea would be intersting to have teeth surrounding the court.

Btw - another item I saw recently where you have to ask "what were they thinking?" is the new Dillon's Big K pop labels. They have to be the absolute most generic things I have ever seen. If they paid $5 to the artist - it was too much.

You do know the Nike founder is an alum from there? He is paying for this court. He can do whatever he wants there, even though it is sickening. Why would they get rid of the guy that funds basically all of their programs?

He was also the track-and-field coach at Oregan. The court designer ran at OU as well. Lots and lots of money!!! It's really a marketing ploy. Here we are in Wichita, KS talking about Nike. I guess it works.

Yeah, I'm not real fond of it either, but if you got the bucks to do it, and the alumni and school administration lets you, more power to you.

I know the 'traditional' take on the hardwood is fine, but in a way it's interesting to see a new take on it.

Frankly, that looks better than the finished product. I would get dizzy watching a game on this floor, let alone players having to play a game on it. Maybe the crazy colors won't have an effect on the home team (once they get used to it), just all the visiting teams.
