and the financial strength of the AD/economy.

Since about 2007 I've noticed far fewer "external" halftime shows. Last year I don't think any of the games we attended (7 or so) had any halftime show that wasn't local.
There are some good ideas on this thread with local talent only - there has to be a bunch more.

I recall many moons ago when a boat load of ‘Air Cap Tap Tappers' (IIRC) assembled on the old floor of Levitt Arena and laterally pounded their taps into the freshly varnished floor. Yes, it was a hoot; however I was informed the floor received serious damage from the clogging. They haven’t received another invitation. :D

P.S. Google's great... here's this fine group in action:

There was some basketball instructional school that had 10-15 kids ranging in age from about 2 to 12, maybe older, that performed dribbling (mostly) and other basketball skills. Fun to watch and some amazing skiils for the wee ones.

They were good, but that was for Shocker Madness--I believe before the 2006-2007 season, not halftime. That said, it'd be great to have them back. As I recall, they were really late arriving for some reason, which made things go a lot later than expected that night.

I just wish I was a side-show freak getting paid to travel the country & watching sports. Plus chicks dig dudes who can offer 15 minutes of intense entertainment.

Really, BCS? You have to even bring the one-upmanship into a thread about halftime entertainment?

In other news, my dad and I have discussed how "America's Got Talent" is a great proving ground for potential halftime shows. Most of them couldn't hold people's attention for an entire Vegas showcase, but a lot could be very entertaining for 10 minutes of halftime.

Point in case, this season there was a guy who did some pretty impressive things with a mountain bike. His act would be perfect for halftime.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I first saw them while I was in Vegas on Fremont Street one October evening. I remember telling my dad that they would be a cool halftime entertainment for the Shox. Low and behold they were the halftime entertainment for a game that following season. I just wish I would have had the same luck while I was actually IN Vegas gambling. If only I was truely prophetic....
