    • It is absolutely pointless to talk about rpi right now. SE Lousiana State is 1-2 and higher than us because they have played two undefeated teams. That shows how screwed up it is.

        I agree completely, but I'm definitely not going to complain about it. If we can stay in the "receiving votes" category the whole year I think it could easily help exposure and it shows at least someone out there is still thinking about us as a Top 25 team.
        I'm with you there. Just shocked anyone would give us a vote right now. 2nd half was embarassing

          We're not saying it does. But I think it showed we are not a Top 25 team right now. A veteran team that panics like we did doesn't deserve to be getting votes right now. That's all I'm saying.

          I would like someone to step up and lead. I thought Hatch may have been that guy but it doesn't appear so. At least outside of leading by example which hasn't seemed to rub off on the others.

            You're entitled to your opinion, and those that actually get a vote in the top 25 are entitled to theirs.

                Sub I disagree with your assessment,they did not panic, more than anything they were poised.LSU played a great 2nd half spured on by their fans and needed that win.Our guys were able to win on the road in a hostile environment after losing a 17 pt lead and being down by 4 with 36 tics.Pulling out a W is a step in the right direction if anything they grewup.

                  That discussion took place after the SDSU game.

                    He posted that two weeks ago, which means he was probably taking about the SDSU game.

                        • This question is for SB Baseball or whatever his name is. I cannot ever remember exactly. Also, it is to others, who are RPI smart like he is.

                          1. I do not know much about the RPI formulation.

                          2. The Shockers beat the LSU Tigers.

                          3. Now suppose the 7-5 Tigers get on a roll and defeats a couple of ranked teams and racks up say 17 wins.

                          4. Does LSU's performance enhance the Shockers RPI?

                          5. Thank you. That is all.

                              The formula is roughly based on this:
                              RPI = (WP * 0.25) + (OWP * 0.50) + (OOWP * 0.25)
                              where WP is Winning Percentage, OWP is Opponents' Winning Percentage and OOWP is Opponents' Opponents' Winning Percentage.

                              So yes, if LSU wins a respectable number of games(OWP) against respectable opponents(OOWP) then it will raise our RPI.
