  • Shockfever ... It was my independent opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and not everyone agrees 100% with the 'group' on here on every subject.

You do know the meaning of 'insanity', don't you? I really doubt that we are going to get games scheduled with KU or KSU by a constant bitching, wining, and crying on a message board. (Now, repeat the serenity prayer, 12 times).

You need to get off the board, and go talk to other people in town that follow the Shockers that don't spend their time on message boards, you might be surprised at their 'opinions'. Several do not think the HCGM is God's gift to WSU (personally, I am all for him, and feel lucky to have him).

I usually agree with many of here on a variety of subjects, Doc, Sub, Trop, Royal, and others, but not when it comes to KU or KSU. I have no animosity towards them, and I like to see all 3 schools do well in sports, WSU being my favorite, of course. (I did attend WSU graduate school in mid 70's).

I find it ironic that on certain threads, some posters can show such a charitable Christian attitude, but harbor such an ongoing hatred towards KU and KSU. See a problem here????????? I do.

Let me ask you 1 question, Would Garrett Stutz share your views or mine on this subject. What do you think?

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That is not even remotely the issue.

Who said we are or we aren't? That has nothing to do with it. Where did I say that anything message board related was a factor in making a WSU-KU or WSU-KSU series happen?

I must remind you though to open your eyes and realize lots and lots and LOTS of people do read message boards. Some more than others and some that will never admit to it. Just sayin'.

Believe it or not, I'm not a bot. I too am a human being. I do in fact spend most of my time off of the message board circuit believe it or not and I would bet I spend about the same time on here as does 95% of the participants of this forum. The only difference is I post a bit more and lurk a bit less. Anyways, I do listen to varying opinions. I'm sure yours are influenced by a lot of KU/KSU people who you communicate with. That's fine and all. I have lots of KU/KSU friends too (well not too many KSU ones..) but I don't let them influence my thoughts/feelings as they appear to do to you.

So people don't like Marshall? Why? Because he's not your typical sucker-upper coach who tells it like it is? Because he wears his emotions on his sleeves? Why? Could you ask the people that feel this way why? I really don't understand what this has to do with anything on the current subject, but whatever. If people don't like the way this program is going under Marshall, then they can hop back onto a different bandwagon.

I'm glad WSU is your fave. Me too. I could care less what the other two do. Watching a UNI or Butler open up a can on either doesn't bother me a bit and I was actually very tickled about it.

Uh, seriously? You're trying to infuse religious beliefs into message boards involving college athletics? Come on. This isn't necessary. Why don't you ask our favorite KU/KSU trolls about their religious beliefs and ask them if getting off on stirring the pot is a sin or not?

What views would those be? Whether we should have series with KU or KSU? Well, that reminds me of a quote in newshock's signature a couple years back. It was a quote by Garrett Stutz that stated we will be the best team in the state by my sophomore year.. something to that effect. In order to prove who the best in the state is, you must play all the teams in the state. I think you catch my drift and his drift.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

      • Snap,

You have a right to your opinion...exercise that right and hold your opinion very very tight.

Very very cheap shot: "Several people don't think HCGM is God's gift to WSU". You then say you are all for him after appointing yourself spokesman for those phantom people who don't think HCGM is God's gift to WSU. What motivates these posts of yours and what do they even mean? Yours are now two of the stupidest posts I have read.

        • Shockerfever ... We are not as far apart as you might think.

Would I like to see us play KU and KSU, yes I would.

Do I think this will happen? No, I don't unless Topeka mandates it. What I meant by being the new kid on the block is that WSU was the 3rd instate instituition, and would always be considered the new kid to them.

Do I think a message board can influence these series, A BIG fat NO.

Do I think that KU and KSU recruits better players, KU - yes, KSU - we are close to them, especially this coming year. (although Clemente was one heck of a player, Samuels is good). Many reasons on recruiting subject - Bigger school, conference they play in, etc.. I do think Frank Martin has been real good for KSU though, and has helped their program a lot. I am curious to see how they do with their 7 footer out of Florida.

I was not trying to infuse religious beliefs into a message board, but more along the lines of 'consistency of thought and actions' from different posters. I am not a religious person in my life at this time, although I was brought up a Christian.

Yes, I think we are a well respected program today, and regardless of how Turgeon left us (as many other coaches have done and do), he played a big part of that, and I think Marshall is getting us back on track again. I am hoping hard that we make it back to the Dance this year, and I think we have an excellent chance of it. However, I do think that Marshall's bench coaching could improve. Turgeon's sure has improved since he has been at ATM.

          • Perhaps the 'Cats should play football in Wichita against anybody! They only drew 38,468 for a BigXII game in KC against Iowa State. I figure Cessna Stadium holds a tad over 30,000, put some bleaches in both end zones, and draw 40,000. I'm sure the rent at Cessna Stadium is less than what K-State paid in KC.
38,468 has got to be extremely disappointing.

Not bad for a couple of MWC schools.
