    Interesting thought.

Although, most likely, they just went from playing KU, ISU, NU, MU & KSU to playing UA, ASU, UT, TT, aTm, OU and OSU on a twice a year basis.

I don't think things got a lot easier, but we'll see.

I am going to be interested to see Tad v Mark for sure.

I also believe texass doesn't go anywhere but they do start to market their own network (which they won't share the revenue) and will demand more concessions from the smaller xii. The other members will have to swallow hard and learn to not only take it but ask "may I have another sir". I really believe that the other members have looked over the edge and did not like what they saw and the only one that saved them was texass.

TMZ is even trying to get in on all this expansion talk, reporting Oklahoma State is gonna be the next one to jump to the Pac-10.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are blazing a trail to the Pacific-10 Conference ... according to a source -- and leaving the future of the Big 12 Conference in serious jeopardy.

Perhaps it wont be the other 5 from the Big 12 waiting to see what Texas does, but the other 5 going and leaving Texas to decide whether to follow them or stay with KU, KSU, ISU, MU, and BU.

Bill Self now realizes football drives BCS schools and his school is sliding down a slippery slope.
He is on ESPN outside the lines.

                    The countdown is on

                    It's the Big
                    12
                    11
                    10
                    9

You don't want to still be sitting on the launching pad when the countdown hits 5.

Perhaps it wont be the other 5 from the Big 12 waiting to see what Texas does, but the other 5 going and leaving Texas to decide whether to follow them or stay with KU, KSU, ISU, MU, and BU.
Imagine UT considering the prospect of the B12 surviving and they have to share their TV and post-season revenues with that bunch. There isn't enough whiskey in the entire state of Texas to make that go down easy.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

IMHO Texas will leave. They are playing everyone and just being careful so that the State legislators don't try and force UT to drag Baylor along saying "if you go so does Baylor". Kind of happened when the Big XII was formed.

Texas wants to be the big fish in the big pond. They'll make the jump to a "super" conference rather than stay in a deformed Big XII.

Trying to find the link, but supoosedly there is talk the Texas schools have conversed about a "Texas Conference".

                          Texas
                          Texas A&M
                          Texas Tech
                          Baylor
                          Houston
                          TCU
                          Houston
                          North Texas
                          Rice
                          SMU
                          UTEP
and one other school believed to be OU.

They could monopolize the Texas TV markets.

This rumor doesn't hold much water, but was an interesting concept seeing as nothing much at all has been heard from the Texas schools.

The PAC-10 has to want more than CU and OSU. CU especially would seem to be a booby prize although maybe a new conference affiliation is what they need to rejuvenate their program. A nice place for the PAC-10 teams to travel to though.

Hopefully, the OSU fans will enjoy the 2-hour time zone differrence.

Reporting UT and aTm to Big 10, OSU to Pac 10 and OU + 1 to SEC.

I'd imagine KU is going to be fighting hard to team up with OU.
