Another part of this jewel was that after the comany went bankrupt Medical Outfitters "lost" track of the equipment sweet lou had. If I were on the other end of the bankruptcy I would be concerned with other "lost" equipment as well. This just keeps getting better. Did anyone else notice that sweet lou is in line for a $600,000 tax free bonus if he stays beyond June of next year. He must have photos of people in comprimising positions with farm animals to still have a job.

      • And now a second domino falls into the guilty pool, another Assistant AD.

A comment posted on CJOnline's sports homepage:

To this point, the Chancellor may want to fire him, but she can't. She's got bupkis. Yes, Lew can be a major, major jerk, but he's done it in the best intersts of his employer. The results are, donations are up, ticket sales are up, a national championship and a BCS bowl game have been won, he's recieved numerous awards for athletic management and administration -- many of them from his peers.

Whether you agree with Judge Brown or not, you have to admit, for a centenarian, he has quite a wit, as evidenced by his question about the defendant's education at Oklahoma University.

            • From the article:
Jim Marchiony, a Kansas associate athletics director, said Perkins had been talking to Olin about a possible position for about two years.

Olin has been Lawrence's police chief since December 1987. He'll make $115,000 a year in his new position, slightly more than his city salary of $112,863.
They've been talking for two years? That seems to be a huge coincidence with the timing the Lawrence police might have been getting some info about Perkins athletic equipmkent and some irregularities in the ticket office.

So, now KU "creates" a position for the former chief of police and pays $115,000 a year for something they evidently didn't need until this year? The former police chief gets A RAISE IN PAY?

Can somebody please find some lawyers and judges who didn't graduate from KU and bounce these beakers in front of a grand jury? If there's nothing fishy going on, then how come we can smell the rotting fish all the way down the turnpike in Wichita?

Aagrh, don't you know that the creation of the new position is just coincidental to Perkins's problems and any relationship to the Lawrence Police Department's investigation of those problems.
