If they came here to play in our arena yet still refused to play us, I would go and boo them the entire game. Same goes for KU.

Right. There's no contractual obligation, but it'd just be a nice courtesy since WSU is Wichita's program, and our tax dollars built the thing. I guess it's kind of like 'dibs'.

I wonder if Creighton would be a little miffed if the Shockers scheduled a neutral site game at Quest vs. Nebraska. That would be kinda fun.
I'm not so sure WSU is Wichita's program. I'd be curious to see the alumni living in Sedgwick County of each school. I know I'm a KSU alum.
There is absolutely, 100% NO question that WSU is Wichita's top sports priority and it isn't even close. Even GoddardCat would agree to that one with his clever "within 60 miles" schtick.
There are WAY more KU fans in Wichita than WSU fans. I work in a place with over 1,000 employees and I'd say it's 2 or 3 to 1 KU fans over WSU fans. The WSU fans are almost underground. The KU fans are way upfront with cube displays, clothing gear, etc.
Yes, but you would expect the KU to WSU fan ratio to be skewed by employees at the landfill.

1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

If they allowed either KSU or Ku to play in Intrust Arena without playing WSU then I would NEVER attend another event at the arena.

Then you better enjoy the arena while you can cause it's very likely going to happen. Intrust isn't WSU's arena and nothing would surprise me.

                It's not that simple.

I don't think it should happen without WSU's blessing. Wichita is WSU's prime market. Ku or Kstate playing a game here (particularly if WSU is playing a game the same day) would have some negative impact on WSU's ticket sales and media coverage.

All of these schools are governed by the same Board of Regents. Currently no community college can come into Wichita and offer a class without getting prior approval from WSU.

It should be the same for athletics. If Ku or Kstate want to play a game in WSU's prime market they should have to get approval from WSU first. The County Commission controls the Intrust arena, I would hope they would require WSU's blessing before allowing Ku or Kstate to play a game there.

Requiring WSU's approval would put WSU in a good negotiating position to work out a series with the school wanting to play here or at least get some compensation (such as a few dollars for each ticket sold).

Dude we cant even get decent TV or Radio coverage and we're going to expect those schools to ask us to play here?

BRB Jessica Alba and Adriana Lima are begging me to finish up.

Yeah, I hear they get pretty grumpy when you don't finish their pedicures in a timely fashion.

                    ;)

Between espn2 and espnU WSU was on national TV something like 8 or 9 times this year. Some of my relatives strung all around the country saw more WSU basketball games this year then they ever have.

That is pretty impressive considering that we were coming off a very mediocre season and only picked to finish in the middle of the Valley this past season.

It was 7 times. And yes that pretty impressive.
Im speaking primarily about local production. While they do televise alot of games the production value is crappy for lack of being able to use a better word. KNSS is just absolutely horrible.

Wichita treats this team like trash half the time.
