I'd have to see what the deal was before doing handsprings over it! Just burnt a little too often.

Does Nebraska play any games in the Quiet Center?

Sexton should at least inform the County Commission that if either KU or K_state were to play there against anyone other than the Shockers, then it would be a cold day in hell before the Shockers would play there.

Uh, I thought we were gonna play Tulsa at IBA next year. That leads me to believe that we will be the first D1 game there..

I agree with others than in no way does the article with the KSU AD involve a game with WSU. They are simply looking for a neutral venue. So much for that series.

          ... No really, deuces.

I'm really confused about all the concern over who plays at IBA....again, it's not our arena. Ours is located on campus. If Sexton were to say anything to the IBA people about not letting KU or KSU play other opponents that would be the biggest cry baby move he could make and would embarrass me as a WSU fan.

So let me say it one more time, IBA has zero obligation to WSU to make sure schools only play us there. Sure they'd like to see WSU vs KU, it would be an instant sellout, however I'm sure they'd be equally as happy seeing KU play anybody and WSU play somebody else...more money for them.

Yep, they pull up the Jays decals and replace them with Huskers decals...it's really quit sad...or actually funny. :D

Right. There's no contractual obligation, but it'd just be a nice courtesy since WSU is Wichita's program, and our tax dollars built the thing. I guess it's kind of like 'dibs'.

I wonder if Creighton would be a little miffed if the Shockers scheduled a neutral site game at Quest vs. Nebraska. That would be kinda fun.

We owe Alabama an off campus return and that may be what ADJC is talking about. We played them in Mobile last year and playing in Wichita would be a similar distance away from campus. We already have 3 games at Sprint next year and Frank may not want to sacrifice any more home games. I have not heard any more about a rumored KSU/WSU series.

For IBA, I'd like to see WSU invite KU, KSU and a top 25 teams from the ACC, SEC and Big-10 to a Saturday-Sunday gathering with the teams from Kansas playing two of the other teams in triple-headers each day.
"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

KU and KSU did that back in the 60's. It was called the Sunflower Doubleheader. One night they played a couple of top ranked teams in Ahearn and then switched opponents and played in Allen. It was a really cool nationally recognized event.

I'm not so sure WSU is Wichita's program. I'd be curious to see the alumni living in Sedgwick County of each school. I know I'm a KSU alum.

There is absolutely, 100% NO question that WSU is Wichita's top sports priority and it isn't even close. Even GoddardCat would agree to that one with his clever "within 60 miles" schtick.

Yeah, it's really not even close...just start paying attention to license plates, window decals and t-shirts...even taking into account all the bandwagon KU fans who popped up after the national title a couple years ago it still wasn't close. KU fans + KSU fans = WSU fans...on a good day

There are WAY more KU fans in Wichita than WSU fans. I work in a place with over 1,000 employees and I'd say it's 2 or 3 to 1 KU fans over WSU fans. The WSU fans are almost underground. The KU fans are way upfront with cube displays, clothing gear, etc.

There's support for WSU from a lot of the KU fans, but they're still KU first.

IBA is on the tax payer's tab if it doesn't make money. If KU or KSU playing there contributes to my not having to pay taxes to support the place, I'm all for it, regardless of who the opponent is.

I don't know if KSU could sell the place out. KU could sell it out in hours after tickets went on sale.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

                                I would agree.

Graduates of WSU would probably outnumber graduates of KU, but in terms of fans, there's no question that KU wins out.
