Relying that heavily on JUCOs is not a good thing. I'm going to go ahead and predict SIU is definitely a play in team next year and may finish no better than 9th. I'll have to wait until I can see all rosters before making a firm guess but it's not looking good at all in Saluki land.
We're bringing in JuCos for added depth at 2 positions.
SIU is bringing in JuCos because JuCos are about all there is to fill the holes when the annual basketball player migration out of Carbondale takes place every April.
When Lowery was asked if Booker and Dillard were the only players transferring his answer was, "That's all for now".
It could get real ugly in Carbondale. After the big raise Lowery got after the S16, SIU doesn't have, and can't raise, the money to fire him. By the time his contract is up and he can be fired, SIU basketball may be below Evansville's program. That's sort of sad.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Trop, Aargh here is right. They're relying on JUCOs to save them from a crappy season. We're just adding depth. And Ehimen hardly counts as he should have been here all along... It's very possible none of our JUCO guys start but I'm going to go out on a limb that a few of their will have to and play significant minutes. And their exodus may not be done.
2. Creighton: Altman leaves behind a team with the Valley’s best big man in center Kenny Lawson
That may be true, but I think it needs to be taped to the lockers of Mr. Durley and Mr. Stutz. Go ahead and tape it to the locker of Mr. Orukpe, too.
I'd like to think that the all-tournament team post player from Arch Madness has something to say about who is the Valley's best big man the next year. Show 'em what you got, Garrett.

You can bet he will. I love re-watching that fake-out of Shrek that Garrett made in the championship game. He went right around him and dunked it. I think we'll see more and more of that this season.
