Our next coach needs to be an author. Someone that can verbalize coaching....a thinker......perhaps someone that really knows the Xs and Os of the motion offense. A proven quantity not only on the court, but with the pen and paper.

I think many of you know to whom I refer.

I forgot all about him Doc. Should we start putting pressure on the U and him to get this done? Forget my first idea, any man who Bobby Knight calls a basketball genius should be at the top of the list!

A strong post coach, he would be able to help Stutz, Jerome, and EO. This could lead to stronger post play, and with an assistant who is strong with guards, we could set up to be a strong team. Also, Danny Manning is familiar with Evan Wessel's style of play, do to his recruiting of Perry Ellis. Now, Perry Ellis loves Danny Manning. IF Danny can pull PE, think of how amazing that would be.

I can hear it now. Fresh off a 2nd round CBI loss and a 1st round NIT loss, we're really happy to bring Gregg Marshall to (insert name). Look, if WSU continues the trajectory they're on, no doubt Gregg will get some run for some jobs he might like to take. Not gonna happen yet.

FWIW - I'd rather be the school known for launching careers than the school known as a black hole for coaches.

Personally, I think our next coach needs to bring knowledge of basketball fundamentals to the table, particularly ball handling. I've noticed a lot of poor ball handling throughout the NCAA this year, and I think a successful championship run will start with learning how to take care of the rock.

So our next coach needs to be an expert in that. A man of few words but proven skills.

Perhaps the man who invented the crossover dribble.

I don't see GM leaving for either of these jobs. They maybe BCS jobs, but bottom feeder BCS jobs. I doubt the pay increase if any would outweigh the job securities issue. If he continues to win here he will get an offer from a better team that the coach left because of perceived greener pastures and not a team he will do a complete rebuild on. If WSU hadn't agreed to give him about twice what Winthrop could afford he would have came here. MT had the program in good shape despite some bad recruiting years.

Close, but not quite. The man to whom I refer was all but named to the Arkansas position a couple of years ago. There was a financial battle that developed between the Hogs and the Hawkeyes and this person eventually withdrew his name from both schools consideration in an attempt to restore sanity to the coaching world. He is that big, and that great. His teachings are widely accepted as genius and he is revered throughout the coaching fraternity the way Sun Tzu is accepted as a military leader.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Even Danny Manning will tell you that you don't hire a head coach to get one player. The way you get a player is by inventing a position within the program, hire said recruit's dad and pay him 100k/year.

                      Duh.....

I saw Danny Ainge at Hog Wild this weekend. He was eating with two people.... One was a prominent real estate agent in Wichita and the other was John Wooden. 8)
