Yes, we Shocker fans are already excited and pumped up for next Season. Who will be our leaders next Season or will it be done by committee? Will the Shocks win the Valley? Will the Shockers party like it is 1999 and Dance like we did in 2006? Who do you expect to start and make our 8-10 player rotation? Are we going to sign more recruits here in April? Here goes.
Starters--Mr. Stutz, JT, DWill (with a twist of Rags), Hatch, and Toure'
Rotation players that will sometimes start and finish games--J. Ragland, Gabe(6th Man POY in Valley next Season), Ellis, David Kyles
Leaders? Stutz, JT, and Toure'
Last, but not least, we have 4 more key players in which at least 2 might just make the player rotation and each intrigue me in various ways.
Kenny M.---I love the idea of Kenny moving to the 3 spot. Will he work overtime in developing his J and his ball-handling? If so, watch out because he can be solid on D and can finish in the open court plays. Last summer, I also witnessed him make some very nice assits in scrimmages.
EO--Don't expect an immediate franchise player in EO--but NEVER underestimate the upside this young man can bring to the table. EO is a skywalker that can scoot down the court just fine. He can swat and reject shots, and he can learn to position himself to the point of being a "monster rebounder." Can you dig it? The old saying we hear is "you can't teach height." Offensively, EO will have to learn the art of 'getting open in key spots' to receive to rock, and then finish with authority. Our Coaching Staff have proven through our other big men that they can develop players that want to excel, ala Stutz and JT. Thus, in due time, EO will make us proud.
Tyler R.---The youngest Shocker player who has a southpaw shooting touch. The question is, how consistent will he be in games? Tyler may be a Season away from earning much playing time, but he will develop and receive his opportunity.
J. Hamilton-- He seems about 6'6" and plays hard and physical. He has some range and can really finish inside. However, look for the learning curve and limited time this Season due to other more experienced players. The following Season though, he could be in the regular rotation more.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I'm putting my money on D-Will and Joe being the leaders on this team. Joe has put his time in the juco route and D-Will looks like a passionate, wear your emotions on your sleeve kind of guy that will not hesitate to let someone else know if he is not giving 110%.

Rags, D-Will, Toure, Hatch, Durley, Stutz...So many potential leaders!
Blair, Kyles, Ellis...What talented, experienced depth!
EO, KM, Tyler, and Jerome...Potential!!!
Granted, I'm a young man and there are no 2010-11 All-Americans on this team, but WOW! Talk about 13 talented players, my goodness! I can't wait!Livin the dream

I do like the depth and talent of next years team
PG - DWill, Rags, Toure, KJ
SG - Toure, DK, Hatch, TRich
SF - Hatch, DK, TRich/KJ
PF - JT, Gabe, Ellis, Jerome
C - Stutz, JT, Ehimen
Not sure what to expect from Ehimen this year but he will get PT.
Jerome has another year to develop as there's just too much in front of him this year. But I love the kids potential.
TRich I don't know a lot about but he's supposed to be a shooter. If he can stroke it he may find some time. But he also may be another year away from good minutes and replace Hatch.
KJ has loads of potential as well and his PT will depend upon his development over the summer.
This team appears to have the ability to go 10 deep. And that would leave the three just mentioned on the bench. Although the jury is still out on which Aaron Ellis is going to show up. Somebody could take his court time away from him...Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

UNI used the "hockey" line change pretty well last year. We have the potential of always having a 7'0" center on the court, letting JT & GB & AE play the 4, Hatch & Kyles & Hamilton & Manigault play the 3, etc.
Do you think we will use "line changes" or substitute individuals as needed? What might be "lines" be? (This may have been discussed previously but ... "we're" bored. :D )Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Originally posted by Downtown Shocker BrownI think, and I could be wrong, that Richardson will be the 2nd 3 off the bench.
And I also admit that I haven't really seen TRich in action like I have everyone else with the exception of Rags.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

The discussion on who backs up the 3 is interesting. It's obvious Hatch will get the bulk of the minutes. TRich was 6'4", 205 as a young Fr. His age when he came into the program indicates he's likely to have some natural weight gain in addition to weight gain from strength training. TRich easily projects to 6'4", 215 (maybe 220 - yikes!) next year. That's plenty of bulk to play around the basket.
Marshall does a lot of offense/defense substituting. It could be that Hatch's backup will be either Manigault or Richardson, depending on whether Marshall is looking for offense or defense. There could be worse problems to have. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I see Toure remaining as the back up 3. Him moving from the 2 to the 3 when David came in worked pretty well and with either David, Demetric or Joe backing Toure at the 2, I have no problem with Toure continuing to be the back up 3 with Tyler or Kenny as the 3rd choice.

Sub ... Like your lineups except I think Richardson plays the backup 3 rather than KJ, and it leaves Ellis sitting on the bench, which I don't think he will do after 2 seasons of playing.
Coach will sure have his options though.
