Snapshot9 you are right about Stutz, he will improve...Durley will improve with a steady dose of practicing post moves over the summer. Right now he is very predictable with his back-in post move. He needs to develop:
    1) A turn around jumper immediately upon the entry pass.
    2) An immediate spin move upon the entry pass.
Right now valley schools know his limited moves inside. When he learns to be creative and spontaneous (waow...my wife says the same thing about me...ouch) he will grow to the next level...GO SHOX!!!

I think Durley has dozens of post moves and that he is difficult to stop. He could certainly do it quicker.

The Shockers collectivelly worked hard last summer to improve their game. Hatch's improvements tickled me to death. After watching some summer scrimmages, I kept hearing just how hard Durley was working. If we were to all go back and watch all of our games, it might surprise us to see how many games that JT was instrumental down the stretch in several wins. JT can still improve with another summer of hard work.

Going into this last Season, I really thought DK could crack the lineup and be our most improved player. He looked soooo good last summer. I want Stutz to get stronger and more assertive on the Court. What a class act Garrett is. GS really improved the last half of our Season and I liked him in the game with JT or Gabe. Gabe could be a very improved player next Season. I like his game and believe that the best for him is yet to come. Toure' is a player that we need to be more a "go to player" as a Junior that has played lots of minutes as a Shock now. I really think he could improve his shot which will be needed. I doubt AE will start next Season but each player can still earn that. I actually like him coming off the bench more as the Season before. He has had flashes of offense but has struggled.

I hope all of the Shocks really work hard on being more consistent shooters and playing solid defense without fouling too much. If we could get our team turnovers down to single digits, that would be nice on my wish list. These areas are all more easily said than done, but are within logical reason? Stay tuned!!!

When watching the teams in the NCAA tourny...they win because they can shoot the ball. I think we have to be more offensive minded...and really really work on shooting.

Yes melcong4, consistent shooting, solid defense without fouling too much, and keeping the turnovers to a mild roar in single digits.

That is exactly what he does every year and every game. I don't expect he won't do the same this summer.

I'm getting the sneaky suspicion FSF that you like consistent shoting, solid defense without fouling too much & keeping the TO's to a mild roar in single digits. I agree.

Also,it appears to me if we get the natural maturation that, in theory, should take place with our bigs, 2's & 3's should be MVC championship caliber. The key will be PG. What we had in #3 was a good general, distributor (3-1 assist-TO ratio) & shooter (45% FG, 42% 3FG). What he didn't & physically couldn't bring was the first step and beyond quickness we see in Maniscalco, Ahelegbe & Phillips. That is the link to a MVC championship. When a PG leaves their defender in the dust others have to come to the rescue. In that situation the PG has 3 viable options. 1) Shoot 2) Pass to a big 3) Pass to a kickout shooter. Besides Hatch (37%), our other kickouts, TM (33%) & DK (31%) must be tougher and MAKE SHOTS. We also haven't seen what TR brings to the table, which at least will give us another kickout option.

I have confidence it will all come together!!!

I'm sure that SB or RDR has the statistical information on TM and GH as far as 3 pt % in say the first half of the season vs the last half. MY eyetest on the two thought I saw two young men worn down by the constant in your face defense (TM) and the banging with the big boys (GH). It just seemed later in the season that neither could stroke the ball consistently.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

ABC I think that you are making all of your decisions regarding Kyles and Hatch on Kyles athleticism. If he would play as hard,be as physical, and rebound like KSU's Samuels or Sutton, I think you would be correct. But while his athleticism is amazing, he doesn't do the intangibles and his outside shooting hasn't been that good and he isn't a good finisher around the basket. If he improves his rebounding and becomes physical, I agree with you but that's a big "if".

I think if UNI wins another game, especially if they can win two+, they will get picked first.

The more UNI wins, the more money for Valley teams. UNI loses some key starters but also has a bench. After watching them and other successful teams thus far, it reminds me of the significance of the art of consistent shooting and taking good % shots. Making free throws is always huge and can decide close games. Down the stretch, UNI was making throws and KU was missing a few. UNI dictated their will on KU tonight and demanded respect.

Two things. I am eager to see who we sign for our point guard to compete with DWill. As mentioned above, this spot will be of essence. In 2006, we had Matty B who I think was a Soph. at the time and K. Bradley, a Senior, to handle the quarterback duties. Lastly, this is what I would like to see this summer after watching lots of games concerning the art of shooting. I wish each Shocker would take lots of shots from lots of spots. Most players have a few spots that they are the most consistent from including the 3 point shots. Then it would be nice that our Coaching Staff knew where these hot spots are for each player to utilize in the confines of our offense next Season.

I see the top 3 teams next year as us, UNI and MSU. Then it's a pretty clear separation after that.

Last summer, I would have swore Mr. Hamilton slammed it on EO. He may be a year away but inside the young man has potential.
