Not quite sure how...but Crashing The Dance has us out right now. They had us in yesterday, and more good happened than bad for us.

Originally posted by ripemupshocksThe length of this thread is a perfect example of why the selection committee should never see a team name. As has been suggested before, simply assign a random number to each team. Then the selection committee would be forced to make selections based only on team statistics. Once the field is set, then the computer would match-up teams with their respective numbers on a giant bracket board, and the whole thing covered with a giant sheet in a giant football stadium like at the University of Michigan or the University of Tennessee, which of course would have to be chosen by lot. And then we could sell tickets at $1,000.00 a pop, and the scalpers could sell them for $10,000.00 which would undoubtedly help the economy. And inside the stadium a Pepsi would cost $5.00, and a hot dog would cost $10.00. And we could bring in the President of the United States and the C.E.O's of all the cooperate sponsors. And once the stadium was full and all the network cameras were in place, a giant crane would lift the giant sheet from the giant bracket board, exposing the entire field all at once. At which point there would be great consternation and nashing of teeth and possibly even rioting in the streets by fans of those teams not appearing on the giant bracket board. But at least, the NCAA would make its money and we the people would have a tournament. And all would be right with the world.
Sorry. I couldn't help myself.
;-)
I actually think the randomly assigned number thing is a good idea. :good:

You wouldn't have to charge admission, just make it pay per view and have a circus like atmosphere with all the talking heads talking about how unique a system it was and then after all the brackets let them talk about how its just amazing so many non-bcs schools made it to the dance. Other than that I think that is an amazing strategy for the dance.

I really don't think we'll get in and it looks like we're currently 4th team out. Nevertheless, of the 6 teams currently in front of us, we are as deserving as UAB, Washington, AZ St, SDS, and Memphis. Of those farther ahead of us, I totally disagree that any team that finished their regular season conference at 7-9 (GA Tech) should be allowed and Illinois is a total mystery as to why they're that high.

It looks like the second site page is older, however, given who is ahead of us in both and who has lost early in their tourneys, doesn't make much sense that we've lost ground in the more recently updated page.

It was mentioned that we might not be projected due to playing last week. That was my thought this morning, WSU is out-of-sight out-of-mind. It is too easy to have a knee jerk reactionto immediate games.
Andy Glockner of www.cnnsi.com lists WSU's RPI as 42, he's projecting in many teams w/worse RPI than the Shox.Phi Alpha
