I still cant see how Valley only gets 1 team in.

Kansas State's upset loss to Iowa State coupled with Duke's rout of rival North Carolina has moved the Blue Devils into the fourth No. 1 spot. A look at where I've got things as of 11 p.

"BUBBLE" (22 teams for 11 spots)

IN (11, in S-Curve order): Marquette, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Florida, Illinois, Notre Dame, Saint Mary's, Memphis, San Diego State, Arizona State

OUT (11, in S-Curve order): Washington, UAB, Ole Miss, Wichita State, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Dayton, Mississippi State, Minnesota, South Florida, Connecticut

    OFF THE BOARD: Cincinnati

Well Shox RPI is up to 43 and will likely go up today regardless of if we win or not. Also our schedule strength is up to 111, and could possibly get into the top 100 today playing UNI who has an RPI of 21.

We would need every team who is supposed to win their conference tournaments to do so, and some teams like UCONN etc who are squarely on the bubble to blow it in their conference tournaments...

no way we get in if we don't win today

east coast bias has big east and acc taking at least 13 of the at large bids...big east is great, yes, but very overrated

acc is so mediocre....virginia tech is very average and firmly in

they should make the committee pick the at-large by their season numbers first (RPI, SOS, top 25 wins, top 50 wins, 100+ losses), then seed when they know who's in to stay within normal bracketing guidlines....it's too much about the name that's on the front

I wrote this on another thread, but I'll place it here as well.

I think our chances at an at-large berth has improved, but would have to go the "backdoor" route to happen. We would need help. Personally, I would think the MVC would get 2 teams in before C-USA would get 3 or the MWC would bet 4. I'm still not conviced that the PAC-10 would get 3, but Az St and Washington have certainly help their cause down the stretch.

Better safe than sorry, WIN TODAY!

I cannot fathom the concept of putting teams in that have not finished in the top half of their conference.

i agree - but they're still talking about UCONN possibly getting in, and they're what? 8-10 in conference play?

i was giving them too much credit, they're 7-11 in conference play

wow - talk about overrating big east teams

Only way shox get in, is if they win today which I think they can. WASH POST said if they expanded it to 96 teams this year then the shox would be a 21 seed for whatever that is worth.

                            Go Shox!!

Another reason to not go to 96 teams. If I read this right, that would make the Shocks between 84-87th team in. If that's the case, the Valley would probably only get 2 teams in the "great" expansion idea. BAH!
