The play was late in the second half, when DW made a great cut to the basket and went up for the layup. It looked like he got hammered pretty hard, but there was no replay, and you couldn't really see DW as he disappeared underneath the MSU players.

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Fred & Steele are correct. DW did get hit in the stomach late in the game and went to the Dr after.
However, I have been told this AM he is ok and will play today.

On a side note, if you are here in STL and you like ribs, get your posterior to Pappy's on Olive St. You will thank me many times afterward. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

Thanks Steele for the information and ShockRef for the good news.

DW is playing awesome! Big boost for the Shox. Starting to get a man-crush on him.

I know there is still a lot of this year left, but it's the time of year when you start looking down the road.

Stutz, Murry, and Williams looks like a pretty good nucleus for the next couple of years.

I also think the 'We HAVE to recruit a juco PG' talk should die down.

Kenny's probably going to be a better 2 guard than running the point. We still need another PG.

If Kenny isn't playing point, he is far more likely to be a 3 than a 2. It is too early to rule out Kenny putting in productive minutes at point next season, but there isn't enough evidence to expect him to either.

In any case, Marshall has been clear about wanting to have 3 point guards on the roster. The big question is whether DW's play of late opens up more possibility for signing a freshman point if you think he has more long term upside than JUCO point. At this moment, I'd still bet on a JUCO point, but not as heavily as I would have several weeks ago.

I'd bet on a Juco because even if DW wins the starting job, an injury to him at any point in the season would put us in a difficult position. Too much talent at hand next year to take any chances.

I think a JuCo PG is a priority. Manigault doesn't look like a reliable option backing up the point next year. A true Fr isn't what you want in that position. There wasn't much option this year, and that was a problem until recently.

I guess I should have clarified- I meant the talk about 'we have to recruit a juco pg who will definitely start because DW isn't ready.' I'm perfectly fine with a juco pg or a frosh pg- whichever option gets us the most talented guy.

We still need a PG from somewhere. And since we no longer seem to be on Jay Harris' list (Illinois PG), it's probably going to be a juco. But that's fine. The competition will do DW good.
