Bottom line is I think the odds of us hosting an east coast team like UNC are very small.

Based on the seeding and bracket insertion criteria, they seed and bracket based on regions. They can even change the seed to accomplish that goal. At most, a team will only move to the next closest region, however those are determined.

Though it would be quite a story with Roy returning to Kansas to play a team he refused to schedule. WSU would make more money for the NIT by playing in Koch or IBA than would UNC by playing a home game. It would receive national attention which is something the NIT wants. The main problem IMO, is that Roy would do what he could NOT to schedule a game in Wichita, and would get pretty political with those involved to ensure it doesn't happen.

Question: Should HCGM and WSU agree to a WSUvUNC game if Roy demands that the only way he'll play in Wichita is if the game is at IBA?
I say yes. It'd be full even with inflated ticket prices and I'm sure there would be a large number of KU fans cheering hard for the Shox.

Regardless, one could guarantee a lot of national coverage involving Roy returning back to Kansas and that in itself would help WSU; especially when the Shox win.

I don't think it would be that big of a deal to the national media, unless he returned to play against KU. In the media's eyes, UNC playing WSU is like Bob Knight --if he still coached -- returning to Indiana to play Evansville. [/yawn]
