there's a huge difference between 'having the balls to call out our coach' and knowing what's behind what he said and why - but i'm sure you've been a head coach at a division 1 ncaa institution and have all the answers, right?....it takes such courage to call him out and and talk down to him on an anonymous message board, doesn't it?

what exactly am i 'clearly in over my head' about? because even though i'm on here reading posts every day, but choose to hardly ever post? is that it?

i find that hilarious.

As AndShock said, if Marshall wants to use a "AAA" analogy onto the supporters of WSU, then it is totally fair to use it back on our team and coaching.

Being a diehard fan, doesn't mean you have to blindly defend the team/coaching no matter what. That's just stupid.

If Marshall called for a demolition of Koch Arena and wanted to move our games to IBA, would you support it because he's our coach and we have to support everything he says and does? And if you don't, does that mean you are no longer a fan of Wichita State University?

You need to lighten up Mrs. Marshall. Coach has been given a reputation by outside fans for things that he's done and said. I don't care because those are outsiders. However, when the things he says or does affects the reputation for us WSU fans, who keeps his belly full at night, well then you better expect some questions/concerns from the fans (non-blind ones of course).

The comment was degrading to our fans. Plain and simple. I love coach, but calling his own fans "AAA", isn't helping the current state of Shocker basketball, which is becoming more and more shaky by the day...

I'm not going to read all 5 pages of this thread...but I will say, our student section looks little league compared to what I saw on TV last night. In fact in watching KSU, KU and most other schools who think they have awesome students...they've got nothing on Utah St. That was an awesome environment. Clever chants, new and inventive ways to get the players attention. All we can come up with is "You still suck"... Congrats to them, I'll be chearing for them in March.

They fricken taunted Mike Kennedy - that is taking it up not just a notch but to the major leagues.

How many schools taunt the away team radio guy?

Couple of points...

I am sure that most of you are season ticket holders as I am (and have been for 30 years), understand the WSU crowd is older because of the price of season tickets.
I would describe our crowd as informed, supportive and loud when it needs to be.

It will never be the USU, KSU or KU crowd because of the disperity in the number of students at the game.
USU has 3,000 more students in attendance than WSU. Replace 3,000 people setting on their hands with gold clad students that are involved in the
game from start to finish and the environment changes.

Unfortunatly so does the revenue. Then when the team struggles the students don't show up (ala KSU during the Woolridge years).

No body understands this better than HCGM...I am sure he just wishes our crowd was more vocal more often.
