It wasn't one thing, but a whole list of things that contributed to a 1 point loss on the road. I pray that we get another crack at CU in STL.
That's right about the list. Where I differ is that I hope that it doesn't matter who we play in St. Louis. At this point in the season, It isn't out of line to think WSU can win that thing.

As far as Creighton, any rivalry or any conspiracy theories go, aolid win wii alleviate all memories of such thoughts & prohibit any such plans if they are true.

It does seem that no matter how objectively, one looks at recent games between these two teams, that there have been numerous occurances that have raised question, appeared extraordinary and have favored one team over the other.

"We did foul some needlessly," Marshall said. "But I thought the whistles were a little quicker than they've been. You've got to adjust."

      • The calls by in large were not favorable to WSU and as a Shocker fan it is terribly frustrating. At the end of the days shoot a little better and you take away the advantage, perceived or not, from Creighton. If there is proof of a conspiracy against the Shocks then it is time to look for a home elsewhere. Look west perhaps.

That is a very good point. All of that going against us and we lose by 1 on the road. If we get them in St. Louis, they will get murdered.

DJA, unless you are a horrible, horrible attorney (and that's certainly possible) you cannot possibly tell me you don't think the officials pocketing their whistles the last 10 seconds of the game when everyone and their dog knew the Shocks were going to foul, and honest people see that they did, in fact, foul, is 100% fair.

If you say yes, the CU JD program deserves every bit of their TTT rating with you as an alumnus.

That's huge. I wish the Shockers could have an eight to sixteen point advantage every time we played at home.
There were articles published earlier this year about home court advantage across the spectrum of D1 basketball. A four foul advantage is not outrageous . With a few exceptions over the years, I would bet the Shox have a similar advantage.

You'd lose your bet. Over the last five seasons, there have been only 18, 6, 14, 17 and 15 officials that have an average home team difference of -4.0.

The last five full seasons for WSU the home advantage has been -2.0, -3.1, -1.8, -1.0 and -0.4.

For the 100 officials that called the most games during the five years, the overall average is -2.05, -2.11, -1.98, -2.09 and -2.08.

After watching the final nine seconds of Saturday’s game again, I was struck by how far out of the play the referees were when Creighton inbounded the ball into the backcourt. One referee went upcourt, anticipating Creighton bringing the ball up. When the Bluejay player, almost ready to be trapped, lost the ball backward, the referee on that side of the court was at the opposite three-point line while the ball was at the foul line. One ref was on the other side of the court. One ref was underneath the opposite baseline. I don’t know enough about officiating mechanics to know if they were supposed to be in better position. I do know it was hard for them to see the Shockers grabbing at the Bluejays from that far away. P’Allen Stinnett bobbling the ball may have been the best thing to happen for Creighton.
This idiot needs to stop while he's ahead.

"I don't know enough about officiating mechanics...." might be the understatement of the century.

Here's a tip, son. If you're going to talk smack, do it well. If you're going to go to an opposing team's website to post, do it well. And if you're going to go to an opposing team's website to talk smack, you'd better bring your A+ game and do it really, really well.

Instead, you've come here and embarrassed your fanbase. Good job.

I wasn't aware that I was talking about anything relating to MSU or any of their games. Just making observations.
