Generally speaking, they involve referee appeasement to Princess Diana, Queen of the Valley and also the Valley's hate for WSU. It may be coincidence that this has become painfully apparent both times in the last year against sCUm.

i dont see how it benefits the valley for wsu to lose this game today. i agree that wsu got hosed last year but that stuff happens. to say the refs fixed the game is over the top imo.

And that's why we have to get out of this conference at some point. They don't even make sense. Creighton is the "staple" to this league in the last decade. Again, I have no clue why the Valley hates WSU like it does, but it's there. You're gonna hafta ask them why because like you said, it makes little sense.

There were too many questionable calls made against WSU to make me just think this was a regular "these refs suck" type game. I could tell midway through the first half that there was no way they were gonna let WSU win. And here's how bad they were... we almost ended up freaking winning it.

also i only post during the basketball season and when i am given reasons to do so. blaming the officials for a loss is a reason for me to post. you are over the top in your need to blame the officials for this loss and i had tried to ask for legit reasons as to why this was the case. you couldnt give any other than the valley hates wsu, which should definately not have been the case this year. that leads me to believe you are an overly paranoid type of person, hence my previous post....

There are a couple of times in the thread where I have repeated my position on the game. I've mentioned it several times. Try going through and finding it. Read it multiple times and then instead of putting words into my mouth, try to think about it. Think long and hard before you add to your counterpost total.

But again, my point is, there was NO WAY we were going to win there today. There was something there that would have prevented it at all costs. Some may call it was a "fix", others "dumb luck".

I just watched the highlights on the news. As our own head coach alluded to in his postgame, there was more skin slapped in the final 13 seconds than there was in large portions of the game when fouls were called every second. Again, this is what OUR COACH said. And if you actually watched the game, you could see it too.

There was something rotten in Denmarkha tonight. You can deny it all you want. Wichita State was not going to win tonight. End of story.

Creighton is 8-1 at home and 1-8 on the road for a reason.

The referees made it very hard for the Shockers to win throughout the game and right to the end. We knew we would need to play a fairly good game to overcome the difficulty of playing up there. We almost won, even when when we missed too many easy shots, including FTs.

Changing conferences won't help as NCAA basketball refs have no conference affiliation and are independent contractors. For the most part the Valley and Big XII use the same refs because of our geographical location. I will say this - games are becoming nothing but a free throw contest. We shot 54 yesterday against CU which the most in school history since 1953. IMHO a team has to have the depth to survive these types of games. The refs are what they are and if you don't have a good bench your're screwed.

Oftentimes, the visiting team gets screwed by the officials. I have no earthy idea why that is that way. That was the case in this game. You know that going in. TM's missed free throws early in the game, that continuation call that the whole world knew was insane, Durley's turnover in the waning seconds, missed bunnies early, change any single one of those things...................

I have been an avid Shocker fan for over 60 years and these same comments and discussions have been echoed throughout the ages.

"The refs are always out to get us." "They wanted us to lose and cost us the game." "We were robbed, screwed, and tatooed." And so forth, and so forth, and so forth. And, I gotta admit that I have echoed the same thoughts from time to time as well.

But the question I never could get a handle is, WHY?

Why is every one always out to screw us? Have all these hundreds of groups of refs been instructed to get us? Ya think there might have been an NCAA conspiracy policy issued over half a century ago that states , "Screw Wichita State every chance you get?" "Call more fouls against them than their opponents." "Disrupt their flow when they are playing well and take them out of their game."

Perhaps this is really the case afterall. So all you have to do is find that "Magic Bullet" and prove it.
