  • Hotels in downton St. Louis, MVC Tourney

It's that time again, starting to look for a place to sleep during Arch Madness. We've always stayed out near the airport and rode the Metrolink into downtown but I want to try something different this year.

Ideally I'm looking for somewhere within walking distance or near a metrolink station, downtown. I vaguely remember a thread last year talking about hotels in that area for less than 100 bones... Where is everyone staying? Any suggestions? Go Shockers?!

          pie',

"that time" was about 10 months ago.....everybody (outside Marty' and a few others)...book early, book often, as of now, there is basically no penalty for a cancellation if you book with the hotel directly...then see what better deal you might stumble upon.

Waiting until 3 months prior, in this day in age, is just not allowing you the best options.

I agree with the doc on this one. We always book a backup plan before we leave St. Louis for the following year. Usually that person is Shocks771 who's thinking ahead and get's a small block of rooms for us. Then as the date gets closer we look for better deals, if we don't find them we stick with what we booked 12 months earlier.

I've seen it a few times where all the hotels less than a mile from the arena are booked solid a couple months from the tourney.

Is there any discount for buying all-session tickets before the first of the year this season?

Thats because he's probably the least intoxicated of your group. :D Seriously, do I need to get my own seats this year? I'll catch up with you later today.

The Pear Tree Inn is not located adjacent to Union Station. It is located several blocks to the west of Union Station. It is across the street from the Courtyard by Marriott.

The Pear Tree was formerly the Hampton Inn. Drury Properties owned the Hampton Inn and continues to own Pear Tree.

A nice feature of Hampton/Pear Tree, if it is still available, is the shuttle service to the Scott Trade Center. Teresa and I used it one year and it worked out just fine and dandy. The weather was very cold and windy. The shuttle was perfect for us.

I would be surprised, if rooms are available at the Pear Tree.

One might try the casino. I don't believe the rates will be outlandish and the property is located on the Metro-Link. I have forgotten the name of the casino. There is more than one casino, so be sure to get the one, which has the Metro-Link station.

I've always stayed at Union Station. It's the closest hotel to the arena and there's a metro-link on the hotel grounds. And it's like half hotel, half mall. Very cool.

Has anyone found prices at or below 100.00 for Arch Madness this year? If so, where?

In the past the Millennium hotel had rooms in the $80 range. (tall, round thing by Busch)

And for $80 you get what you pay for. Perfect for college students.
