There is just something about this WSU team that makes me believe that we are in for something special this season. This game is going to tell us a lot. I am very optimistic that we have the horses to run this year and Marshall is going to let 'em. I have a feeling that the weapons are locked and loaded.

    Let's get this done!

Well, how do you feel now???? More like last year, right?
I can't speak for Prez, but I'm going to take a wait and see approach for what occurs between now and 1/6 before making any assumptions that we're going to finish 17-17 again. For all we know, Illinois State might be the toughest place to play in the Valley this year.

    • I talked to a friend of mine that sat behind the WSU bench. HCGM and the players enjoyed a relentless barrage of personal comments. Police came down and spoke to the fans but it was to no avail. When ISU red visits don't get too mushy for the team that has the classiest fans in the valley. FWIW.

        Interesting.

Maybe we should change it to the classiest internet fans in the Valley?
        Deuces Valley.

Ill tell you how I feel.

I feel like the team lost a game to a good team. I dont think ISU is that much better than WSU. But they are good. And WSU did nothing right.

Seriously its one ****ing game. If they come out and lay an egg this weekend then thats a reason tyo grab the shotgun and put it in your mouth.

              Keys to the game.
              1. Murry needs to find his shot.
              2. Blair, Stutz, etc. need to make the bunnies.
              3. Second half defense needs to improve a lot.
              4. Dumb turnovers need to end. (Yes, Demetric Williams, I'm talking to you - and others.)
Looking at my "Keys to the game"
              1. Murry didn't shoot well ( 1-8 )
              2. I don't recall many bunnies; perhaps I was hiding my head in the second half?
              3. "Epic Fail"!!!

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I'm a fan, how do you think that any fan feels after a loss? Why are there so many fans looking for a reason to show that this team sucks? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't share your pessimism about this team. I know when the product on the court is legit and when it's smoke and mirrors. This team is not smoke and mirrors. But it also doesn't mean that they are going to win when they play like crap. They aren't. They played like crap tonight.

                But,

There is a difference between losses. There is a loss because you played like garbage, and there are losses because your team was exposed. We played like garbage on the offensive end. Taking bad shots and not working it in. As well as rebounding. This can and will be corrected with the help of a good coach, which we have.

I would classify both of our losses in this category. In addition, we had Ill state playing out their a$$ from behind the arc.

Whereas losses that expose your weaknesses hurt because every game afterward will give other teams a blueprint to beat you. I don't think that's happened yet. It's the first game on the road against a good team shooting out of their ars. We lost. Well, I guess now that we're 0-1, I'll start worrying about the Royals now.

                • Bill Snyder has a saying that probably apply here. You shouldn't get too high when you win and too low when you lose. Some people don't have any perspective on how teams go through a season with ups and downs (hopefully the trend is generally going up but you shouldn't take too much from a game or even several games). Use it if you wish.
