Actually, Ashockalypse, the term "dribble drive" was popularized years ago by legendary Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn (who also did UNLV games for a while during the Tarkanian era).
It always seemed odd and redundant to me, too, for the same reason you mentioned -- you can't drive without dribbling -- but I think the idea is that the player isn't just standing and dribbling, or moving around on the perimeter and figuring out what to do next as he dribbles, but rather that he's actively going to the basket as he does so. If you think of it that way, it makes some sense.
Edit: By the way, to stay on topic, no prediction (as always). But I feel better about the Shocks' chances in this game than in any at Normal for quite a while.
