Just wanted to stop by and talk a little friendly basketball talk before our show down on Saturday. I've actually been an outside fan of the Shockers for about 5 years now. I became pretty good friends with two WSU Alumni while living in New Orleans and have been following you guys ever since. It's good to see the Shockers are once again playing at a high level. It's also good to see my Red Raiders competitive again after a few lackluster seasons. Basically the overall difference in our team has been the experience level. We've also added a couple of really good athletic jucos since last season that have really made a difference. All of them are physical and play above the rim. I expect a tough game with you guys and am glad we're getting a real road test. I've heard Koch arena is a great basketball atmosphere and this game will only help both schools prepare for conference play. Wish I could be there.

Koch is one of the loudest arenas in the country...it is hard for road teams to understand the noise level until they are there. I thin your team will be a little surprised. Should be a really good game. Both teams are athletic and play good defense. What are the thoughts around red raider nation on the game? IS WSU getting any respect from the casual basketball fan down there?

Welcome aboard. No doubt the game will help us get ready for the MVC, but it's yet to be seen if we can do the same for you.
I look forward to a few TT fans in attendance, unfortunately we won't be blessed by the Goin Band from Raiderland or even Bangin Bertha.
Is Patrick as big a fan of Sun Tzu as his father is? What I am really hoping for is a personal appearance by RMK.
"W" vs Guns Up. Should be fun Saturday night.

lamanfromtx,
"a little friendly basketball talk before our show down on Saturday" probably isn't available around here. Texas Tech is in for a dog-fight. The Red Raiders are coming into our house and should expect to leave with their first "L" of the season.

Originally posted by MTXETech will be used to noise, they play in the Big 12 remember? The noise level in our arena is very comparable to Allen Fieldhouse, and if things get really heated it gets louder than the Phog.
I thought you were a Beaker ... you of all people should know better. Allen Fieldhouse gets far louder on a regular basis than Koch at its loudest. The only thing close I have experienced in Henry Levitt/Koch were the Iowa and Florida State games.

Every KU game I've been to I've left disappointed with the crowd noise. I can't say the same for my KU friends/family who've been to Koch.
I'm just sayin'Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

It's not that Koch Arena fans are necessarily louder, per se, it's the design of the arena itself.
Unlike the rectangular seating arrangements in most other arenas, where the sound can get lost baffling in the corners, Koch Arena (aka "The Roundhouse") is round, thereby focusing all crowd noise onto the court.
That said, Koch arena fans are pretty damn loud.
Koch arena is loud. Physics prove it. Comments from former opposing coaches attest to it. Arguing otherwise, courtmaster3104, demonstrates a lack of logic and intelligence. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

is what knight brought with him.
This is coming from a B12 school averages smaller crowd than WSU and can only fill their arena to less than 2/3 full - bet that is a great atmosphere.
