A TT dweeb coming here to lecture us? The only tradition this school has
is what knight brought with him.

This is coming from a B12 school averages smaller crowd than WSU and can only fill their arena to less than 2/3 full - bet that is a great atmosphere.
You should try checking out our football team sometime to see "tradition." You may have noticed us PrimeTime ABC a few times.

Anyways, this one should be tough for us but I expect nothing less than wins until someone beats us. Maybe we'll lose on the 19th or maybe UNM will knock us off at The Pit (the loudest arena on our schedule IMO no offense).

    Good luck on Saturday. :)

Haven't ever been to The Pit, but everything I have heard suggests that it and Koch are very similar environments (and I certainly wouldn't be offended by the opinion that The Pit is the louder of the two).

Kudos to you guys for having a coach and administration for having the guts to go play on the road at place like Koch and The Pit, especially in the same season. We complain plenty about the lack of teams who are willing to come here, so I want to be clear about how much I appreciate those that will.

Looks to be a good game, and I hope that Tech has a great year, because it looks like you are building that program the right way. I hope this isn't the last time our two teams get to play each other in the near future (win or lose).

If your going to bring in football into a basketball conversation then maybe you should check out our baseball team to see "tradition" - it stills blows TT away.

Too bad your coach "blackballed" us. He refuses to ever play us in Lubbock again. You should ask him why. It's good for laughs.

But TT fans definitely don't hate him as much as OU fans lol. :)

Even better that he didn't stay at OU for more than a few hours! That OU shirt never did look right on him.

IS WSU getting any respect from the casual basketball fan down there?
I don't doubt it. They're sort of used to loud arenas but not yet this year. I'm sure it will affect them a little. The thoughts around the Red Raider Nation are that everyone knows this will be a tall order to go into WSU and win. I think everyone is giving WSU a lot of respect, which is well deserved. Your Sweet 16 run a few years ago put your program on the national map.

Easy there. When did this guy say he was a Tech fan? We get it, it's a really loud arena. So is Oklahoma State, OU and Texas A&M. I think the crowd noise will definitely affect our play. Very good non-conference game for both teams.

TT has been my favorite B12 team to watch the last 2 seasons!

Love to watch Wichita product and Bishop Carroll grad Daniel Howard perform on Saturdays. Talked to his father and he confirms the tradition and football experience.

Daniel Howard has been great. He had an awesome 70+ yard fumble recovery for TD at Nebraska. :)

Just wanted to echo the comments above regarding "welcome to Shockernet" and throwing around of the word "respect".......I have a lot of respect for Coach Knight.........and his dad too.

Nowadays, you have to walk a fine line when trying to coach, discipline, guide, admonish, nurture........well, you know what I mean.

I, too, enjoy watching TT play football in the BXII. I just about jumped through the roof on Crabtree's tightrope catch vs. UT last year.........and then the ensuing kickoff from...........LOL.......TT's own 15 (or was it the 5?) yard line.

I'll just conclude with this one comment, meant in a friendly way to our esteemed web visitor (s) from Lubbock.

Best of luck on Saturday. You probably already know that you'll need it. ;-)

I am not familiar with this blackballing incident.....are you able to provide more information?

                            Thanks, and again welcome.

What does this have to do with tradition again?

I'm sorry our coach refuses to play you for reasons that I don't know about. But you have to admit that when trying to make a point about something, it's kinda weak to change the type of sport for comparative purposes.

Also just wanted to join other SN'ers in saying thanks for Mr. Knight and TTech for having "balls". Our in-state brethren are ballless and I'm embarrassed for them.

It's nice knowing two pretty good teams can get together and meet each other without both having to be from a "power" conference.

The Red Raiders are well respected here and I'm very nervous about the upcoming game, but ecstatic as well. I think it'll be very competitive.

After Saturday, I hope you guys roll through the rest of your slate.
