HCGM said the students/crowd needs to be more creative and that we are better than that.

OTOH, he never even hinted that he thought the crowd was WRONG!

Are you kidding? Biddy refs never call ANYTHING. I swear I saw a kid pull out a shiv in a game last year, which I didn't think was appropriate for a K-1 team. That's why we're at the Y this year.

I believe it's what they do at Duke. I've always liked it.

The "no more whistles" chant of a few years ago was good.

Was watching some of Alabama and Purdue last night after the Shox game. Apparently the Alabama students aren't too creative either. The refs were going down the student section pointing at guys who where then being escorted out by security. Is this some kind of new NCAA point of emphasis or something?

                              The refs are the show!

                              ...or...

Every time they blow a questionable whistle, a bunch of random "Tweet!"s break out. "Tweet...tweettweettweet... ...tweet... tweet tweet..."
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Years ago, I seem to recall it was in the late 70s or 80s, Wu and the band teamed up to express displeasure with the refs. It was pretty creative.

When there was a break in the action, Wu would don large, dark glasses. Then he would walk onto the floor with a white cane, which you typically see with a blind person. Wu would walk around aimlessly and tap on the floor with the cane. One of Wu's arms was extended to give the impression that he was trying to avoid a walk into some object. While Wu was walking and tapping, the band was playing "Three Blind Mice."

                                The crowd would go wild.

Please correct me on this, but I think that after several games, the refs tired of the act and slapped the Shockers with a technical. Later, the act was discontinued. The league office may have intervened.
