I loved how the Shocker fans in attendance did the 'stand for defense', AND, in the second half, they DID NOT sit down on the made free throw, but only sat AFTER the first made field goal. Made me proud!

UMKC, 4-4, didn’t have an answer for either, making it an especially disappointing evening because the Kangaroos were coming off a productive road trip.
A competitive loss at Oral Roberts, which looks much better after the Golden Eagles outlasted Missouri on Wednesday, and a victory at Centenary should have put a bounce in UMKC’s step heading into their first game at Municipal.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read, nicehandtick. Kansas State would destroy the Shockers.

UMKC cannot continue to play as timidly as they have been recently. When going against teams with size they have stayed away and gotten soft. if anything, you have to get more aggressive against the big teams - drive to the basket, pick up fouls, look for drop-offs and kick-outs, move your feet and make the defense move as well. The way we've been shooting lately we cannot afford to just swing the ball and try to hit a jumper out of rhythm.

The Roos have enough talent to be more competitive. We absolutely cannot afford to not be there mentally, as Jay suggests.

I guess we know what kind of a following WSU has in KC.
1,744 total people showed up to watch the game.
In KC, they're not joking when they say W Who?The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

It did not deserve to be called. If that call is made consistently where another player creates the contact all of the players would foul out during positioning for rebounding. Boxing out requires the player to move into another player and move him away from a position to get the rebound. That creates a lot of contact. Even if one considers the charges where the offensive player drives into the lane one could say that driving into the lane initiated the contact.

I thought Clevin pushed off just before he leaned in and wondered if that is what prompted the offensive foul call.
If not, then I would think either the defender had to have been in position to draw a charge (he wasn't) or Clevin lowered his shoulder (tough to do in the act of shooting).
So if it was not the push-off that prompted the call, it should have been a no-call, IMO.

A bunch of fouls called, including the one on Clevin, involved the offensive player initiating a little contact, but not gaining an advantage in doing so. They certainly shouldn't have been defensive fouls (although often they were called that, particularly on Garrett), but since they didn't usually gain an advantage for the offensive player, a play on would have been fine. If the guy can hit the tough shot, so be it. If not, maybe he shouldn't throw himself into the defender next time."Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players

This years refereeing is getting ridiculous. There too concerned about calling every little ticky-tack call imaginable that they have forgotten what basketball is. I don't think many people/players want to go to a game to watch both teams shoot 30 or 40 free throws.

Hannah didn't even touch the guy.
If that was considered a "lowering of the shoulder", then there's about 200 calls the refs have missed this year in WSU games.
Horrendous officiating job last night. Good thing it happened against a weak opponent.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

It was a dumb call.
I have seen the replay several times and there is no way Hannah fouled on the play."Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."
