I have no doubt about his loyalty to the program. You would have to be to brave the cold weather to go to the game looking like that... 8)

I should have been more clear - the wierd looking part had to do with the color combinations... Otherwise he looked like a perfectly respectable gentleman... :goshocks:

edit: With this weather I could use that lump of coal!!!

St John was the reason I listened to them, because I listen to him in the morning on my way to work. Will be interested to see if they mention anything tomorrow.
I also like Soren Petro...he gets the shox a mention when Doug Gottleib is on "The Program". I am sure he will throw us a bone tomorrow.
Sat right behind St John. He thinks were NCAA bound! :posterwsu: 8)
Steven St John this morning had to mention that the Roos lost to Wichita State and that he didn't want to talk about it!!!

SP, just curious why he didn’t want to talk about the game?

        1. He didn't want to talk about UMKC getting boat-raced in KC?

        2. He didn't want to give WSU a tiny bit of publicity in the KC area?

        3. No one cares about WSU in KC?

        4. An over zealous WSU fan pissed him off after the game?

        5. None of the above… it was a tongue-in-cheek comment?

Sorry, who the hell is Steven St. John anyway? The voice of the Roos?

If not, then I would think either the defender had to have been in position to draw a charge (he wasn't) or Clevin lowered his shoulder (tough to do in the act of shooting).

So if it was not the push-off that prompted the call, it should have been a no-call, IMO.

I remember watching that play and thinking that Hannah did get in a pretty good push-off with the right arm as he was getting by his initial defender. That was before any contact occurred with the help defense (where Hannah was not responsible for anything foul-worthy).

That link pretty much sums up St. John. His is a really good guy and his comment about not wanting to talk about it was pretty much his not wanting to talk about WSU spanking UMKC. I didn't hear him say this but can hear him saying it and totally understanding the context.... He's cool... and has great respect for the Valley.. He replaced Danny Clinkscale as the play by play guy for UMKC this year. In college sports he is a UMKC and Mizzou fan, but his real passion is boxing.

His morning show, Between the Lines is a pretty good show.

Finally, a credible opinion on officiating.

Agree here. I listened to his play by play and he pretty much was frustrated by UMKC's inability to hit any shots, the officiating and WSU's total dominance in the game. I would equate it to a WSU fan hosting a show and not wanting to talk about the previous night's game during, oh, the Cohen or Thompson era after getting run by St Peter's by 30 or something along those lines. Just wasn't much to say.

He had nothing but praise for WSU during the game and said that this loss for UMKC probably wouldn't be that bad looking back when WSU's season is done. They also made the comment that if WSU was picked to finish 5th, than the Valley is one helluva conference.

                      • I've worked with Moe many times and talked with him about the call today. He mentioned Hannah used his right arm to push off and gain an advantage and then jumped into the defender.
It could have went as a no-call but in his opinion, Hannah used contact twice in one play to gain advantage.
That was enough to make the call. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

                        • Hannah gained no advantage at all whatsoever.

I don't see how anyone could possibly defend the officiating overall from last night.. and I don't care if you're a WSU or UMKC fan.

Thanks ShockRef. It's not often we hear the referee's explanation of a call.
