Theres gonna be games when Stutz can dominate and there is going to be times that we will need Durley to break his guy down and score it. I will take both!

No thanks. Not at this point. Right now Durley and Blair are a lethal combo. The great news is we don't even have to have Stutz develop. if Durley and Blair improve only a little bit we will dominate the Valley front court and Stutz can just plod along at his own pace. If Stutz quickly proves that he can be really effective against good/athletic teams, all the better. The point is, we have sooo many weapons that we don't have to worry.

Blair is my lullaby when I feel even a smidgen of anxiety.

Did anybody see Blair's soft hands around the paint today?? WOW!

I think the "Durley better watch out" comment was just GM giving Stutz some well deserved props in a humorous manner. Let's not read too much into it...Durley is still playing great in spite of a cold shooting performance. At this point it seems to me that our best starting five consists of Hannah, Murry, Hatch, Blair, and Durley. With Stutz the first big man off the bench and getting lots of minutes.

However you want to rationalize your past poor judgement on potential talent, GS had a much better game today and against Iowa than JT. Not saying he's better but he is playing well. His points, rebounds, etc. are all better.

It's a shame MTXE is ruining such a clever screenname.

I was one of the many who was questioning GS. And at the time and situation, I think my concerns were valid. But starting with the Iowa game, GS has looked like a different "beast". His hands are still a bit soft, but he's doing more and more with the team and I'm feeling more and more comfortable with him in there.

That's 2 good games in a season of 30. Let's not call the fat lady yet. But so far, so good. :good:

I agree, long way to go. I will say though maybe the light finally went on. He's playing fairly aggressive. May have a little bit of soft hands now and then, but he's holding on to it a little better than last year so that is good.

I'm very happy to see Stutz playing as well as he is. Just makes a good team better! GO SHOX!

If Stutz has another couple of games like this against decent competition (not counting the next couple of cupcakes), then Durley could find himself being the best backup center in the Valley.

I kind of like them both on the floor at the same time.

I remember some people making comments wondering if Stutz would ever become a player (you know who you are). I always had extreme confidence that he would someday be a good player, but I thought next year maybe. Now I will say that I may have been wrong. Maybe, he becomes a nice player this year. It'd be nice if he had good games when Durley didn't and Durley had good games when he didn't. That's the way it's been this part of the season.

Good game for the Shocks. Pre-game, I wasn't sure what to expect, especially with Kyles being in a funk for a couple of games now and only one true road win last season - I kind of pegged this one as a loss, so I was pretty happy.

And not to continue a pointless thread, I think Stutz already has 6.4 more dunks in only 1.2 seasons of college basketball than Miller did in 4.3 seasons.

It might be a record...only two games and people are signaling for the band wagon.

There were a ton of Paul Miller fifi posters making the same ridiculous comments about Garrett only in his first season as a true freshman.

I even heard Bob and Bruce comment about how they new Paul was a player the second he came out of high school...what a joke! They were making the same negative comments about Paul his Junior year that many of the fifi posters were making. I heard them say that Paul is more of a player than Garrett in comparing Sophomore years just a couple of weeks ago. I sure neither of them will admit to it now though.

Way to go Garrett...keep up the good work!

Next season, HCGM moves JTD to the PF. AE goes to the SF. GH becomes a PG just like MB. And then HCGM tells GS and EO you're our C's, so you better start working your ARSE's.

Seriously, I think Garrett has had a couple good games in a row. Sure, maybe the competition hasn't been the best, as Iowa isn't very good and the real Cleveland St. didn't show up today, but you gotta think. Every good game in a row he has should be building his confidence a little more. From the way he played last year to the way he is starting this year.. HUGE improvement.
