What did you ask that it would have been filtered?
Two of mine didn't make the cut. I asked about capitalizing on 2006 and the role of the MVC in advocating for its members. I like Elgin and think he has done a great job, but sometimes an individual becomes too comfortable in a job and doesn't possess the "fire" anymore.

Comment on the Valley. Did the league properly capitalize off of the 2006 run? Why does the league seem to avoid advocating to the "big boys" and the NCAA on behalf of its members? Has Doug Elgin jumped the shark?
      Friday November 20, 2009 1:23 Nathan

1:27 Coaches such as Greg McDermott and Mark Turgeon certainly capitalized. I think the MVC did as well. Its reputation is good. Many programs are drawing well and putting money into basketball. The success of 2006 (and other seasons) helps with that. If the MVC continues to be a one-bid conference, the answer might be no. Elgin is an MVC Hall-of-Famer. I don't see how anybody could complain about his performance in recent years.

Savage the other day on the radio:

"Has the program at KU become too big for Mark Mangino?"
In other words, Mangino was a fine choice to lead KU at the time, but now that they "think" they have a big time program, he's outlasted his usefulness.

I wonder if it's the same for Doug Elgin.

I don't think so, you could probably fit the whole program in Mangino pants!

As for Elgin, if WSU turns out to be as good as we all think we are going to be, we will help take Elgin off the hot seat. IMHO, the MVC needs a high profile team, and the best canidate year in and year out is WSU.

Paul, you are not stealing any of my premium information on recruiting are you? If so, then its going to be a big fee.

1:18 I'm sure Matt loves the fact WSU fans love to hate him. Isn't that every radio host's dream?
