there will be 6 in our group going. looks like a awesome crowd is going to turn out for the shocks. Is there going to be any pre-game at any of the bars next to the sprint center. Sure would be nice to mingle with fellow shocker fans before we go watch some great basketball.

My understanding is that the tournament is not allowing any school-like envolvement (cheerleaders, pep band, dance team etc) and because of that and other reasons, there are no organized school activities.
I'm sure we could organize something here, but there is nothing else organized.
Now if the UT band shows up......let's say I won't be a happy camper.
It's awesome to hear about so many Shocker fans heading up the road for this. It just makes me wish it were possible for me, but I fully expect to HEAR the Shocker contingent at those games through my TV speakers!
well if no one has anything organized we could go to gordon biersch it is real close to sprint center. It has good food and alot of different types of beers :D . My cousin who lives up there knew the manager so maybe he could get a block of tables or something. if there is any interest i could check. either way we will be done there somewhere. should be a great time. Also if you have never been to the college basketball experience you gotta go it is great. there are alot of interactive things to do for adults and kids. something to check out!! see everyone down there
My father & I will be making the trip, staying at the Hilton around the corner from Sprint and will likely make our patrol base in the Irish pub in southeast corner of the square. I must confess that I'm stoked.
I found it interesting that Paul Suellentrop speculated 2500. That's a pretty aggressive guess........I have no reason to think he's not informed....I bet there are a few WSU fans in the KC area that will be there, at least I hope there are.
So if Hannah could have played, I sure would have wanted Dixon playing as well. As it is, this game will be up for grabs. This type of competition is just what the Doctor ordered as our Shocks continue to climb back toward the places we want to visit. One thing is for sure. I think our players are up for this challenge and will not be intimidated.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
The season has begun and I just wanted to drop a line from 1 of your MVC brethren and wish you the best of luck this year (except for when you play my 'Birds of course :D ). Congrats on your first 2 victories and we're all pulling for you against PITT and then either Iowa or Texas. Hope you guys have safe games and can pull one or more out for Shox Nation and the Valley.
As for our matchups...things start earlier than usual this year as you guys come to our place over Xmas break on Dec 29th. We'll talk more about that game as the day approaches but as usual, I expect nothing less than a couple more good battles between our squads this year. IMHO the WSU/ISU matchup continues to be one of those unsung tough games in the Valley every year, and I'm sure alot of Shox fans would agree.
Until then, I wish you guys the best in the non-con, tear 'em up, and we'll see ya when the Valley sched starts in December!
I am a diehard Illinois State Redbird fan first, and an MVC supporter, diplomat, and ambassador of good will second.
