Party of four in Section 122. I think we are going to eat at Gordon Biersch before the game (restaurant/brewery next door in the Power & Light).

They are selling beer at the game correct?

    let's do it  :posterwu:

Whenever we have a game in which chances are pretty good that we will lose, we can always count on KC Shox and Shockerfever to predict a loss to demonstrate how realistic they are. If we should win, I am sure Fever would chalk it up to his practice of "Negative Karma". I do, however enjoy their posts and they could very well be right.

Fever told me last year that I couldn't criticize pridictions unless I myself made a pridiction. So, I say WSU in a close one --- 73-70.

Pittsburg has not been overwhelming in its games thus far.

By far, the biggest challenge facing our team is one of belief.

If our guys prepare for Pittsburgh, and believe in what we do and what we should do, then we are PLENTY good enough to win more than our fair share of games at this point against the Panthers on a neutral court.

If our guys concentrate on playing the Big East runners up from last season, the #4 team in the country, an Elite 8 team, a Big East powerhouse.....then we're in big trouble.

With our without Clevin, on Monday November 23, this Wichita State team is big enough, strong enough, talented enough and well coached enough to beat the Pittsburgh Panthers more often than not on a neutral floor. Whether or not they will believe that Monday at 6:30pm will determine their fate, and quite possibly a clear picture of the potential success, or lack thereof, for this season's team.

Also their fans are pretty frustrated with their defense at times. That points to their youth. If their defense isn't as strong as it has been just bodes better for us. They have been shooting it well but not taking too many shots. So perhaps we can get them to speed up some so they will make freshmen mistakes. I guess they are pretty guard oriented right now like we are. Sounds like their guards just like to shoot quite a bit so if we can contest their shots perhaps our length will bug them some as they haven't probably seen our length and athleticism yet.

Dunno, but it needs to be Monday already!!

I will say we better defend Ashton Gibbs like crazy, he's the one player that is really lighting it up for them right now.

Realistically, the Shox are better than last year and we have more atheletes on our team, but missing Clevin is going to hurt more than you think in this game against a Big East team.

We will lose unfortunately and I predict the game will follow the same type of flow as last years losses to Georgetown and MSU. We hang around but can't get the win.
Tell you what if we beat Pitt and have to play Texas I will predict we lose that one...will that make you feel better? LOL
Nah. We just ask Gene to coach the UT-WSU game; he has had some success against Texas in championship games. :D
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

                Thanks for remembering me! :good:

Sorry, I was so out-of-line with my prediction.

Wish my clan were headed to KC for these games but we'll be on our way to Colorado having to keep up with the games via the internet or watching on TV.

                  Fiske Hall - 67

Coach Marshall said something like this about Monday's game. "This game will be a whole new ballgame." There will be no cupcakes in this tourney and this level of competition will guage where we are at thus far in our team chemistry and growth. It would be great to get out of there with a win and play 2 very competitive games. I think our defense and quality depth will keep us from being intimidated and hopefully right in the mix when the final buzzer sounds both nights.

The Chiefs beat a team from Pittsburg today in K.C. that raised some eyebrows, and now it is our turn!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

You base this prediction on what? I'd like to see your player-by-player break down.

I checked the roster, and Pitt is not a big team by Big East standards. Although I haven't seen any of them play, We have bigger guards and forwards. They have a size advantage only at the starting center position. I like our chances.

Pitt opens up as 7.5 point favorites.

For all of those who are sure of a Shocker win, it looks like there's $$ to be made.

We may lose, but doubt it would be by more than 7....I do feel there is money to be made on that one.

Also, they get very little production out of their post, just based on stats. If we are able to do a decent job on their guard play, defensively, then we will have a shot.
