Right now, I like Trop's lineup come Valley time. However, I have yet to see Coy, Blair, or Demetric Williams play. No doubt that Kyles is showing improvement and will be a factor. The beauty of our roster this coming Season is there are several players that could earn some starts, finishes, or quality playing time which will result in intense competition and more wins for we the good guys.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Spangler, what makes you assume Hatch didn't ask?

I think we will have a redshirt or two.

He might have but I doubt that he would ask for adjustments during the season. He is a smart, mature player who had a sweet outside shot; there is no good reason for adjustments until after the season is over.

                Look at the results. 2008-9
                14 Hatch, Graham 34 5 16.1 .351 .262 .848 1.8 0.7 20 7 3.6

43.5% (2007-8 ) to 26.2% (2008-9). If Hatch asked, Marshall should have said "NO!!"

I think Hatch will start along with Blair, Durley, Murry and Hannah. Kyles will be hard to keep off the floor and if Coy can earn the starting spot from Hatch as the season progresses that will be good news...I really like Hatch's B-ball savy ..He reminds me of other MVC players who seem to get better every year thru hard work and intelligence......New players like Manigault and Williams etc will have to earn their time

There were reports of tweaking his shot before the season ever started. It didn't happen in season.

HCGM is going to have a lot of options for the coming season. The only area where we might be a bit thin is the 5. I see Durley as being more of a PF than a C, but at about the mid-way point of last year he seemed to learn how to put his bulk to effective use in the post. Stutz also seems to have some of the skills necessary to play the four which will be a good thing to be able to put him and EO on the floor at the same time.

! through 3 we are loaded and have several options at the 4. No one says you have to have a 5. I can see a lot of three guard looks where we can run the other team into the ground by just throwing waves of players at them that just present slighty different match-ups. Our foes are thinking going to have to think what does this line-up offer in terms of drive, dish or stop and pop? In that instant they are sorting that out they lose that possession. Should be a fun year in that we can see the coach exhibit why we pay him the big bucks. He proved it to me last season but this coming year just for the naysayers.

I thought Marshall said he made a mistake trying to change Hatch's shot during the season. If I can find a quote, I'll post it but it's been some time. :D

I was told by a few people that things happened earlier than that. It could be that they noticed it at some point in the fall and maybe the staff felt like they started it too close to the season. I know I was told it happened before...

Don't know if this was posted previously but I found it interesting.

BTW: I don't care that much about why Hatch's shot got worse in his sophomore year. I care about his shot as a junior; we will need a 43% three point shooter who can also drive to the basket and fight for the ball.
