Volleyball begins in about a month. I'll bet you'll see some basketball players watching the WVB team play. Maybe you could talk to one of them if you're polite (and cheer the Shocker ladies on the court.)

It seems to get even slower right after school starts. Workouts are closed and Marshall (and other coaches) shut down information that could come out.

At least during that period we usually have Chiefs football to complain about.

I can't get excited enough about Chiefs football to complain about it this year. Maybe the season will actually change that but at this point I really don't care.

I thought it was interesting that Mayes chose Gabe Blair as the player to make a difference instead of one of the new guards we have. Gabe has some big shoes to fill in replacing Clemente though.

I feel that the 3 position was weak for us last year, particularly on offense.
Yes, Hatch played okay, but his offensive output was not what it should have been. The person playing the 3 position should be one of the top scorers on the team.

And the 5 position is not what it should be. Durley is really a 4 playing the 5 position because he has been asked to, and doing okay, but sometimes, 6'7" at the 5 position is just not enough. Stutz is okay, but he needs to dominate on the inside (I hope he really steps up his play this year).

The Chiefs won two games last year. That's like the Royals winning only 20 games over an entire season. They're already far, far worse.

But...in the NFL, parity rules so the Chiefs will likely turn it around faster than the Royals. Actually, the Royals will not likely ever turn it around until a salary cap is in place. Salaray cap...ha! My fault, as that will never happen in baseball.
