I'm picking WSU ahead of SIU this year. I think WSU has a better match between players and coaching styles than SIU. SIU's Soph class is a good one, but they don't seem to fit well into Lowery's "in your shorts" defensive style.

I'm picking SIU ahead of BU, so I'm way off base with this top 144.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I really doubt if they are picking us for 8th to 10th place in the Valley. Either Bradley or WSU will be up next from the Valley.

BTW Doc, one national writer already picked WSU in the title chase with SIU not far BEHIND. Have faith.

I got a chuckle out of the SIU fan's comment. He shouldn't expect much respect after a 13-18 season with the main new hope a turnover guy from Iowa.

I would think SIU would be ahead of BU also. I think they are pretty much on par with us, which leads me to believe we must be next in the top 144 (for Valley teams anyway). One thing that may put us ahead is our finish to the season last year. Also I believe our recruiting class got a LITTLE more pub than theirs this year which could put us a notch above them in SOME people's eyes. And perhaps some writers feel that their recruiting class last year didn't live up to the "hype" which is why they are being a little more cautious with them this year.

Who knows though, this is 1 writer's opinions and who knows how he goes about his rankings.

Not really surprised to see an SIU fan gripe about something.

You're right tropicalshox. Going 13-18 last year and losing their PG Mullins isn't gonna translate into a Top 3 finish. I think 6th is a pretty safe pick for them. Sure, they're not used to it, but that's life and I personally think SIU has had their peak this decade.

We definitely will make the list. I'm really thinking Bradley will be next and they'll have us pegged for 4th. I don't think anyone can deny the tremendous upswing we demonstrated towards the last half of the season last year.
            Deuces Valley.
            ... No really, deuces.

The more I've thought about it I agree it would be logical to have BU next and us 4th as we probably showed as much or more progress during the last half of last year than anyone in the league except for UNI. But I won't be pissed no matter what, even if we don't make this list.

That's what I was thinking as well. We finished strong with a VERY young team and we have a pretty nice recruiting class as well. People seem to look at WSU as on the way up. I predict Bradley is next from the Valley.

SIU comes in at 117 and 6th in the conference. They say they lost Carlton Fay. Not sure that is correct. This is his Junior year, right?

I got it, they got Tony Boyle and Fay mixed up, since according to them, Tony Boyle will be the new go to guy since Fay graduated.

If the same mistake were made on our writeup this place would be in 3-Mile Island mode.

I just find it a little ironic that some are being critical over SIU fan's comments in regards to sloppy journalism when folks would be completely apeschit around here. When reading their comments they basically dismissed the writeup after the writer botched major facts. I didn't see it so much as crying over lack of respect.
