Just to keep things fair for any noobs out there, the next five KU/WSU games after KU lost by five in an "ass kicking":

    88-89: @ KU 86, WSU 66
    89-90: KU 93, @ WSU 66
    90-91: @ KU 84, WSU 50
    91-92: KU 81, @ WSU 51
    92-93: @ KU 103, WSU 54
Even more reason for them to sign on the dotted line and play the Shox. What do they have to lose right? They are dominating the series. Should be an easy win for the Jawhawks.

WSU should have no interest in being one of KU's patsies, which they were for quite a while there. More recently KU has stayed away from scheduling any MVC teams. Tough win, little reward. Makes sense.

Personally I'd like to see WSU and KU play. I only posted because I thought bloodgold's post was missing a crucial point: that we did schedule WSU after the 86-87 game, and the results were so one-sided that the series became rediculous to continue for both programs.

Those games were also played during KU's years of a NC in '88, Final Fours in '91 and '93... basically they were a Top 5 program. It just so happened that during roughly that same time period we experienced a downward trend in our program and endured some of the worst years in our program's history.. so of course the games weren't competitive.

I'm sorry, but those reasons from 15-20 years ago don't fly today.

I could care less one way or the other. But when Team A has an opportunity to play a home game with no strings attached against Team B on national tv and oddly turns it down.. it certainly makes you wonder.

My objective here was only to kill any thunder bloodgold thought he’d get from his post. He said Danny and my boys got our asses kicked in that five-point thriller, and I was just hoping we’d remember the result of the next five games in the series, and principally, the 32-point average margin of victory that we put up. The series did go on after 1987, although not many WSU fans want to admit it.

As to the thread, I could give you a list of reasons why KU might not want to schedule WSU, and as perfectly valid as those reasons might be, it’s still hard to argue how we couldn’t fit our very respectable D1 in-state non-con into our 15-game non-conference schedule. But I don’t make that call. Bring on Cornell.

Isn't KU usually a top program? Title in 08', Top 10 in 09' and most likely preseason #1 this year. I don't get your logic....you want WSU to play KU long enough until they have a down year which will give WSU a bit of a chance. It's funny how you guys hold on to that one 5-point win, while completely ignoring the ass-rapings that followed. Maybe KU doesn't want to play WSU because their fanbase acts like a bunch of clowns after a win. Act like you've been there before.

This from the ku fan who has nothing better to do than start a senseless thread on our board... Nice! I mean, read your original post and apply this exact statement to it, moron!

PS... can we get this "clown", who obviously has nothing constructive to bring to the WSU basketball conversation, booted yet?

With a KWho edumacation, I'm surprised you can count that high. Although, if you were on LB's teams, you probably didn't need to count to pass.
