Are you intentionally spelling the Hyatt wrong and trying to look moronic?

Not sure if anyone is interested but I was digging through minutes of "parking/downtown development task force meetings" and WDDC (Wichita Downtown Development Corp) said that there was a high probability of a hotel going near or in the Spaghetti Warehouse building. However that was again in 2007 before the economy kind of tailspinned

I've stayed at the Hyatt a few times and it seemed great to me. The price was reasonable. Go to one of the following places and compare price & quality: London, Barstow (CA), Edinburgh, Palo Alto, Bakersfield (CA), Seattle, Berlin, Atherton (CA), etc. (Note: The last sentence is a quiz. See if you can find the solution.) Now Pisa (in Italy for some of you :D ) has wonderful hotels for very reasonable prices.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I think a sign language convention last year caused the Hyatt to be full.

Though we get few national level conventions and such, I imagine we get a good bit of state and some regional things that help keep occupancy levels decent.

I'm sure you probably do not get discounts during sporting events, etc., but we just stayed at the Hyatt directly inside the Orlando airport and I got it for $70 total off of Hotwire.

Even the new $1.2 billion Cowboy's Stadium, in Irving, Texas does not have emough parking spots to accommodate the crowds attending events.

Private parking, in close proximally, was going for $30-$60, and people were paying it.

So, the point is that even the most, newly constructed, expensive stadiums have an issue with parking. Wichita, welcome to the reality of the beast.

Things will be sorted out over time to where parking will become available. It does not happen overnight. Even Jerry Jones and his billions understands the reality of the situation. Available parking will eventually rise to the level of need. That is a given!

The one question I have about the private lots is what about during the day time hours when first round NCAA tourney games will be played? I know the night wouldn't matter, but the two daytime games would definitely create a headache for everyone.

I'm sure there will be a shuttle service used during that weekend to help. That's my guess anyway.

Yes, there will be a shuttle service. Yesterday I spent a couple hours looking over the 269 page parking report and master plan for downtown Wichita and for Intrust Bank Arena. It is very thorough and I am sure it will be executed correctly.

The shuttle service for large events such as the NCAA Tournament games would have several pick up spots. They include Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, Exploration Place, Towne West, Towne East, Newman University, Friends University, and East High. They would have several buses for each location. It looks VERY VERY thorough and thought out. Obviously there would be some kinks but it looks very good. If you want to look into the shuttle service your self go to this link

Start on page 197 and I would look through page 207. Looking through 210 would be fine as well.

The parking master plan is also counting on private enterprise or developers to see that money could be made on parking and then build a garage or a lot.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.
